My current garage door has quite a large gap at the bottom and I get loads of leaves and stuff inside, not to mention rain.

Therefore, I want to replace it but I really don't know where to start looking and I have no idea what sort of price I'll have to pay.

It's a small door and I don't need anything too fancy.

Any advice?

I had the same problem a few yrs back. I got a joiner to put in a long strip of wood that acts as a bvarrier and also a stop for the door( prevents it being pulled too hard . it runs along the floor on the ouside of the garage and only cost me £28! and dont even notice driving over it in the car...also prevents water getting in to the garage.
A door will be £200-300....but really its your choice!

Hope it gets sorted for u

I did similar, but didn't bother with a joiner - just bought a length of 2"x 2" the width of the garare and screwed it to the concrete floor, then creosoted it. Got a few leaves blown in but the water never got past it.

Seems like a plan. :agree:

Funny story: the missus just got out of hospital after being in for three weeks getting kidney stones removed (long story!!! thay had to cut her open rather than laser or keyhole surgery, still cannot for the life of me understand why she refused to eat sauteed kidneys her first night home by the way, used to be her favourite.). This was about 15/16 years ago. Anyway she decided to put the car in the garage whilst I am standing washing the dishes (pre dishwasher days but what the hell does that say about out relationship????) Anyway, standing at the sink washing away and you know you look at siomething but you just cannot work out quite what is wrong? Well, she drove right through the garage door. An up and over type one one. Door was ruined but not a scratch on the car thankfully. Claimed it on the insurance, got the money in a couple of days, door company couldn't come for a couple of weeks and GT was buggering off to foreign lands so took the door down, battered hell out of it with a mallet, repainted with Hammerite...hey presto, good as new. Not that I am condoning in any way or form any type of insurance fraud you understand, circumstances demanded I had to do something!!!

Raking up an old thread.

Anyone have any recommendations for a company that can replace a garage door? Need a roller one for a single garage. Seen a few quotes online that suggest it would be about £1k.
