Agreed, and due to the positive factors you list it seems that any backups we have brought in to cover any potential absence have not really been up to much, or had much time to show that they could win a starting spot. I wouldnt wish any absence on Lewy but some competition for his position can only be a good thing.

This guy has a highly impressive CV, an extremely promising signing. One of the the most exciting signings I can recall for a while. However this thread has turned into a discussion about Stevenson just because he could be replacing him, I would have expected this thread to be far more upbeat. I can't recall a signing with such pedigree who should just be coming into this prime.

There's about 1000 other threads where you can discuss Stevenson!

I assume Hibs have given the news release to various media, but embargoed it until a certain time(a common practice)- probably until it has been announced on the official site. Radio Forth jumped the gun.

Are there people thinking that?

I suggested that the guy might get a 1 year deal with the possibility of an extension if he turned out to be the business. If that's what's happening, it's the right move

I definitely hope Hibs are looking for someone to take Lewis's place when he loses his pace. That's not forecasting his imminent demise nor wanting it.

It's hoping for good succession management.
