Players who played 250 games or more

Anyone know where I can find a list of Hibs players with more than 250 appearances?

I know there are a few from way back, but more interested in post war stats.

These are league appearances of players who have left Hibs.
You would have to add in Lewis and anyone else still at the club who has played 250 games.

I've got a list somewhere of all players and all appearances, any particular reason for the 250 plus?

That must be a fairly exclusive club.

There can't have been many over the past 30 years with players moving clubs more frequently, although there were probably a few more prior to that.

You'll be talking about players who have stayed at the club for at least 7 years or so.

The reason for over 250 games was I noticed that Ian Murray played 253 times for us. I didn't realise that and it got me thinking about who else in recent times had amassed that number of games for us. Couldn't be bothered writing down all from the list of players I found and wondered if anyone else had ever went to the bother of sifting them from the more than 100 games etc.

There cannot be too many I don't think.

Edit: according to Lewis Stevenson wiki page he became the 60th player to make 250 appearances for us.

Surely nobody will ever beat Smith with 636 and Duncan with 626 apps. Some achievement.

Gareth Evans on the list but no Mickey Weir would you believe!

Mickey got a lot of injuries in his career, sure he would have been at Hibs longer than Evans.

Mickey was transferred to Luton so was away for a season or two.

I was fascinated by some of the stats listed, until it seems to imply that Alan Gordon's record with Hibs was 10 goals in 23 games, and Alex Cropley's was 12 goals in 25 games

Gordon and Cropley both left in 1974/5.
These stats relate to 1975 onwards.

    Ahhhhh....that makes sense

i thought it was interesting that both Hanlon and Stevenson figure in the top 10 for appearances since 1975, and that Cummings has already surpassed Fletcher and Darren Jackson in terms of goals scored, and with a bit of luck (and not leaving too soon ) won't be long in passing GOC, Keith Wright and Pat McGinlay.

Fitba stats is good but is let down by lack of filters as far as I can make out so far. Of players current plying their trade with us, its important to mention two who are lacing the boots with reliability

Lewis Stevenson is now on 301 games
Paul Hanlon is on 293 games

    Take a bow

Jason Cummings - 60 goals from 108 appearances

I'm not sure that's quite right. I think Lewis and Paul both have significantly more!

I make it 64, so I think Lewis would have been the 63rd. I don't know where wikipedia lifted that information from, as the guy who edited the page is unlikely to have researched it himself or herself.

However, this is the post war list - not including yesterdays game yet, but I reckon 48 players as follows:

    John Baxter 307
    John Blackley 410
    Ally Brazil 258
    Des Bremner 287
    John Brownlie 307
    Archie Buchanan 296
    Ralph Callachan 275
    Bobby Combe 467
    Peter Cormack 291
    Arthur Duncan 626
    Gareth Evans 301
    Willie Finnigan 332
    John Fraser 275
    Jock Govan 297
    John Grant 297
    Paul Hanlon 303
    Hugh Howie 268
    Gordon Hunter 409
    Bobby Johnstone 263
    Paul Kane 292
    Sammy Kean 364
    James Kerr 265
    Ally MacLeod 276
    Jim McArthur 296
    Joe McClelland 256
    Pat McGinlay 374
    Jackie McNamara 309
    Willie Miller 287
    Graham Mitchell 317
    Ian Murray 296
    Jimmy O'Rourke 325
    Willie Ormond 506
    Jock Paterson 370
    Tommy Preston 313
    Gordon Rae 433
    Lawrie Reilly 355
    Derek Riordan 260
    Erich Schaedler 434
    Jim Scott 270
    Davie Shaw 325
    Gordon Smith 636
    Alan Sneddon 372
    Pat Stanton 617
    Eric Stevenson 390
    Lewis Stevenson 342
    Joe Tortolano 257
    Eddie Turnbull 487

Much obliged for you taking the time to do what I couldn't be bothered too. Quite an impressive list of players on there. Quite a few surprise omissions too as has been mentioned earlier in the thread. Quite a few from the Alex Miller era.
