Was this due to the pitch dimensions changing at some point? I'm just amazed that the yam's greatest main stand in the world has been built with the tunnel off center.
No. The tunnel isn't centred on the stand itself. It must be to suit the internal layout.

They don't like Easter Road as a place to watch football firstly because it's our stadium and secondly because they've made a benefit of sitting in cramped conditions on a steep rake and right on top of the pitch. Seemingly it generates an amazing atmosphere.

I've been in all the stands at Tynecastle, except, of course, the amazing new £14m one and they're all horrible and cramped. They all look the worse for wear to me and I was actually quite shocked at the state of that Wheatfield Stand when we were there for the Bonnyrigg game.

Yam pals love it though and think all is barry. They also think it will be even barry-er when the new edifice is unveiled in all its glory. And I'm sure it will.

Good to see that they're prioritising what seats are to be installed.

The only stand in the world that looks like it forgot to dye it's roots.

Seat behind a girder behind a police box anyone?

No wonder they're not bothered by a completion date, the Huns have seemingly sold out their 14000 tickets? That and switching games i.e. Partick totally reeks!!

The Huns have sold out 14,100 tickets. The charity thieves will be overjoyed that the PBS isn't finished.

It'll be an intimidating stadium when it's finished to be sure. We'll have some great matches there.

That's just not true, the stand will be fully UEFA compliant and Hearts have been clear about that in every utterance, they are very proud of the fact. The trouble is that the stadium wont and never will be .... a classic example of giving a fish a bicycle
Think it's actually the pitch that's not. Too small.

Why do those girders stick out so far from the side wall?

Is there any point asking anymore?

Why is that a problem though? The widest girders in Scottish Football are only blocking a view of the back of the polis box.

Because, unlike Easter Road, the gables at the PBS are load bearing. They only take the weight of a wee bit roof (+ the wind load), but the height of the gables means you need fairly hefty steelwork.

Plus the run-off areas behind the goals.

The exact distance between the bottom of the girder trusses of the Roseburn and Gorgie stands is 105.94 metres and the seating starts immediately below the truss , there can only be 3 metres between the by-line and the hoardings at each end.

    Accident waiting to happen !

Only just noticed a legendary component of the other stands sadly isn't replicated in the new one.

Where's the single seat sections at either side?!

Is that The Lonely Hearts Club seats that the local pigeon population nest in ?
Punters should be issued with wet wipes if they are sold tickets for them.

Going to be quite a few seats out of action when it's opened due to that police box meaning severely restricted view.

    Genius design and planning.

Will this be the first stand anywhere that will have limited view, limited view seats (i.e. behind a pillar behind a police box)?

It's perfection, Hibs fans can only dream of a stadium carefully pieced together with bespoke sections of gaffer tape and the finest pop-rivets. Every rival fan in the country will be full of envy.

    yep, you're right.
    some kind of expansion joint?
I saw the close up picture of the strip that covers the gaps. Never seen anything like it on a surface that people walk upon. Certainly doesn't look very robust and I'd imagine it has a short life span.
I'd thought there might have been a silicone sealant solution to the gaps.
It will be interesting to see how this Yam invention holds up with hundreds of overweight bowling club commitee members shuffling over it on match days.

... in a brand spanking new, designed from the ground up by a leading :ahem: architect, as a place to watch football from, stand? I've no idea... but one things for sure, they'll be the best limited view seats in the country

Those few seats immediately behind the police box will have no view at all. They can't sell those.

A cynic might wonder whether they're just there to boost the stadium's quoted capacity. (Remembering that in Scottwilsonworld, attendance=no of seats rather than number of people who attend.)
