..Looking at it logically, If Hibs already knocked back 1.8M* does the Sheriff of Nottingham have 2.5 or 3M?

The funds that English clubs have can dictate what happens. If he is going to go for 4/5 times salary, we need two /three clubs bidding. Sure RP LD NL will have it in hand.

Just posted a picture of himself on Instagram in Ibiza which suggests he is maybe still there.

One never knows and of course Warburton will know all about Jason Cummings but I'm not sure he'd be the type of player Forest are seeking. They have a highly rated and prolific sniper in Britt Assombalonga who Jason probably wouldn't be able to displace and who possibly wouldn't be a good fit together, i don't think. They also have a very promising young forward in Brereton coming through.

I'm sure Hibs would be holding out for serious bucks.
How much did Thomson, Brown, etc go for? Circa 4m each, wasn't it?

We didn't reject that figure last year as it wasn't enough, the timing just wasn't right with promotion a priority over anything else.
I'd rather sell him for £2m now and have time to replace him than play hard ball and wait till the end of the window for an extra hundred grand or so.

JASON CUMMINGS is on the verge of completing a move to Nottingham Forest.
SunSport understands Hibs’ star striker has been the subject of a ‘seven-figure offer’ that has been reluctantly accepted by Easter Road chiefs.
And Forest boss Mark Warburton is now poised to land the 21-year-old after initially expressing an interest to take him to Rangers.
Cummings had attracted attention from a string of clubs in England but the Championship outfit have stolen a march on their rivals and don’t expect any issues in completing the deal, with a medical pencilled in for this week.
It will come as a blow to Hibees manager Neil Lennon, who had hoped to keep the Scotland Under-21 cap in Leith as they gear towards their first season back in the top-flight.
But it’s believed the player was told the club would not stand in his way if the right offer was submitted, with Cummings in turn having kept his head down instead of agitating for a switch.
Lennon was already hoping to beef up his frontline, despite the summer arrival of Dundee United’s Simon Murray, and will now be handed additional funds to replace the prolific fan favourite.
