Looks like Marsella has had some close season liposuction........Why would a 'scout' turn up at the first day of training anyway?
    To "be prepared"?

Why would the Chief Executive turn up?

Why would a bunch of players people on here were adamant had been released turn up?

Maybe the players were training and Leeann had a meeting with Marsella?

Maybe Marsella needs to identify what positions need strengthened?

The players hadn't met her yet. Today was the first opportunity she'll have had to introduce herself to them and no doubt talk them through where things are right now.

The caption says "Hibernian goalkeeping coach Steve Marcella arrives for pre-season training", so either they're wrong or that's still part of his role.

Dunno what goalkeepers we have like.

Nice to see a lot of the negativity towards the players has been dropped for the new season

Sure it feels good to vent, however these guys are Hibs players. Supporting them and giving them encouragement will get us a lot further than berating them already, even if it is just meant in jest.

Clean slate for all the players, that includes the boo-boys - you never know with a bit of backing they may surprise you.

I appreciate social media is popular nowadays however are there no players that can make a decision without informing the world they have one to make.

And there was me thinking we would be allowed to bring players in. Silly me.
Don't know who on earth gave you that idea. Thought we would use the same 15 who turned up today and the last person picked went in goals. Thats what happened in my days and lets be honest scottish football hasn't moved on that much since.

Players will be discussing how they can undermine our new manager in a couple months time or if/when results aren't going our way. They're undecided on whether to report that training is "boring" or if it's "too intensive".

He can stay and sign a greatly reduced contract?

Or whether to sign for HOMOFC or A.N.OTHER FC.

    Ross Caldwell there too.

Realistically, this team should be not that bad! Hopefully Stubbs or whoever can get some confidence and have them playing something that resembles football.

Jings, Steve, dinnae say that. You'll get flayed.

I was kind of thinking the same myself. With a bit of direction and coaching - and a goalkeeper or two - those guys SHOULD be at least a START towards a reasonable squad. I think I saw Paul Hanlon in the background of one of those shots as well.

I'm beginning to wonder whether Butcher took the job to deliberately wreck the whole club. A bit like Cloughie at Dirty Leeds United ....

Nelson, Forster, Hanlon, Booth, Stevenson, Tudur Jones, Robertson, Craig, Handling, Cummings, Harris, McGivern, Caldwell, Stanton, Heffernan, Smith and a few others.

Now we need to know who the boss is and who he's bringing in ....

Think that is more than likely, one of Butcher's many failings was playing Craig far too deep. Craig is NOT a holding midfielder he is an attacking player and IMO at his best when he is pushed further up as he was at ST J. Personally think Craig, Stanton, Stevenson and an inform Harris are a pretty decent midfield. I know they all played last season but under the right manager that midfield could compliment each other nicely. Now all we need is a couple of goal keepers, a new a defence and a new strike force and we are sorted

He isn't a holding midfielder, neither is a he a left midfielder as he drifts Into the middle too often.

I'd be happy to see us playing at 4-2-3-1 with Craig, Harris and Stanton or a new left winger supporting our striker

That squad as it stands would be lucky to finish top 4 in the championship next season.

God help the new gaffa cause we need about 8 players to even have a chance of promotion. Absolute f****** mess :(

He's the lad that drives the under 20''s etc to their games. Think he's on the Hibs payroll, not sure of his exact job role though

Wouldn't surprise me if Dempster called all playing and coaching staff to the training centre to say hello, let them know who their new manager is and to let them know what's happening in general

Is that not the guy that used to fork the ground at half time? I'm sure he used to go around with his son in the days after Tam McCourt got promoted from groundsman to general dogsbody/Kit man/Squad Jester???
