    Places to eat in Edinburgh

Where is good to go in Edinburgh for food? Tired of going to places like Nando’s, F&B’s, TGI’s etc...

    Thanks :-)

    My favourites:

    The Antiquary
    Amber
    The Doric
    Angels with Bagpipes
    Dishoom
Mosque Kitchen (for a quick curry lunch)
My Big Fat Greek Kitchen (although this might have changed hands now)
    Wings

    Mon the Hibs.

There’s a long thread called recent restaurant reviews in the dug out which is worth a look! My favourites just now are:

    El Cartel
    Chop House Leith
The Ivy (I was actually surprised by how good i thought it was)
    Dishoom
Vapiano is good and fairly reasonably priced aswell

Ting Thai Caravan, and it's sister restaurant Saboteur (I love Ting Thai, but have gone to Saboteur instead the last 3 times I've been up that way, I prefer it)

Ting Thai Caravan (went there yesterday), Restaurant Mark Greenaway (fine dining, my brother works there) and the Mosque Kitchen (for a curry - they are simply amazing. Went there after taking Shahada yesterday).

Roy Brett's new place at Newhaven "The fish market" opened today. Tried it at lunch very good.

    Anywhere but Nando’s, F&B’s, TGI’s etc...

Buy nothing online unless you check for free cashback here first. I've already earned £2,389.68!

Generally agree although the breakfasts at F&B are tremendous.

Not the best outside of breakfast time though.

Interesting menu. £16.50 main course price in Tollcross. How times have changed.

As an aside, I used to think that take away prices were cheaper than sit in but not any longer it seems.

    Any thoughts?

I haven't, but I'll check it out. Thanks.

Nok's Kitchen in Stockbridge is another very good Thai place in Edinburgh.
