It's now much less of a financial gamble for them to try and nab him, and it really wouldn't surprise me if they tried.
Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

What? How? If Celtic wanted him they could afford him with or without qualifying.....
There may have been more pressing matters in the squad, they have just got £20m+

Yes, if they met our valuation and put in a sensible bid, but I think they'd be better spending their £25m windfall on more than one player.

This mob were never going to score 4 goals back home, they're sure as **** not going to manage 5.

Great, another season of these deplorable ****bags striding another c. £20 million ahead of the rest of Scottish football

The longer they are in the Champions League the more likely they will take their eye off the ball domestically allowing us our chance to pip them to the title

I couldn't care less about the coefficient. Unfortunately celtic have just earned another £25m tonight. They will be untouchable in Scotland for years to come
What if it eventually means hibs qualify for europe at a more advanced stage? Like 2 games away from getting into the league stages, as opposed to I don't even know how many games we were away last time. At least 4.

I can't see them going for him this year, they have far too many midfielders and with Armstrong apparently signing a new deal imminently.

But with Brown not getting younger I can see them turning their attention to SJM in the next 12/18 months. One thing is certain I think we will get a club record fee for SJM.

Maybe but that's how it works. Celtic earn big money and some of it finds its way to clubs like us with players they think can make the step up.

Just like us signing Murray. And if we got £3m then it makes us stronger.

that will only happen if he signs an extension sometime during this season, imo

I'm sure Scottish premier league clubs get nearly 300k for Celtic reaching the champions league. Sorry if mentioned earlier in the thread

It would just mean that we have been also rans in a one horse race domestically and get to play tougher European opposition with little chance of beating them. I would rather see a domestic league where we realistically had a chance but with Celtic gaining more and more money each year that is becoming less likely. It wasn't all that long ago that clubs other than the bigot twins were actually challenging

Astana were ok first half but Celtc completely dominated the second. I expect them to win the title by a mile and the £25m they'll earn by reaching the group stage just widens the gap. Bit depressing really.

Boltonhibs played golf this morning with Alan Stubbs, and Stubbs reckons we will be asking £3-4m for SJM. When he asked him how much the sell on fee was for St Mirren he said he didnt know how much it was.

Celtic are some unit under Rodgers. I could see them having another unbeaten domestic league season, although the Champions League might deflect their attentions.

Don't see how they need McGinn at present. I'm pretty confident he'll be with us for the season.

By "wasn't that long ago" do you mean the mid 80s?

I prefer the one horse race to the two horse race. Neither of them were my horse anyway but at least we can piss ourself laughing at the horse that dropped out.

2-0 Real. Completely taking the piss in the first half. Not often that happens to Barca.

2-0 Real Madrid, they are putting on an absolute master class here. Modric has been outstanding.
