It was a decent enough game to watch, but I wouldn't have Evans in the Hibs team, so not quite sure how he get's into the Man United team.

Defensively, Man City are miles better than United and it gave them a solid base to work from, allowing their gifted players rip United apart - with complete ease when Evans was sent off.

As someone pointed out above - until United get some solid, dependable defenders, it won't be the title for them this season.

What chances did United have ALL GAME? Plus if Evans, a poor mans Colin Murdoch, had not brought him down, it would have been 2-0.
Up till half time, Man Uts had 3 shots on target, 2 off target and 4 corners compared to 4 shots on target, 2 off and 1 corner for City! Not much difference there BH, even you could see that!

However, the extra man made all the difference and although the City fans don't care (why would they) even they will recognise that fact in days to come even if they don't admit it openly!

Oh aye, whilst I am not a big fan of Evans, to put him in the same sentence as PC Murdoch, in terms of a football ability comparson is inappropriate bearing in mind how awful Murdoch was! He hardly even made the Utd reserve team at a time when they weren't as good as they have been during the time Evans has been playing there!

Had Evans not fouled him, it might have been 2-0 but might not have been and Utd would still have had 11 men playing!

Not sure that's true. One is a washed up ex-Man United central defender, the other is a washed up, soon too be ex Man United central defender.

Don't you notice the ever constant?

No matter where the challenge comes from, United always bounce back

Well they didn't bounce back from the SIX goals today, times could be changing?

Poor performance and an even worse result but, when all is said and done, it's one game and just three points.

It was a freak, one off result that will probably never be repeated for another fifty or sixty years. Much like the 8-2 win that United had over Arsenal earlier in the season.

The game changed when Evans was sent off, I don't think there's any doubt about that. Fair play to City, a lot of teams don't take full advantage of a one man advantage and they did that today but I don't believe it would have been 6-1 if it had stayed at 11 v 11.

City have the upper hand at the moment but there are 29 matches left in the season and there's no way that United will give up their title without a fight.

At the end of the day, it's the United players and management team that have the experience and the knowledge of what it takes to win Premiership titles and as we get closer to May, the jitters may start to kick in over at the "United Stadium".

Not like you to skim read posts Bob!

Murdoch was a "never in a month of Sundays would he ever be a Man Utd first team player" let alone what you claim albeit tongue in cheek I assume!

Very true BH and today's game is already historic and cannot itself be changed! However, lessons can always be learned from history and SAF has an excellent and very long history of learning from history and taking whatever action is necessary to prevent similar unexpected occurances from being repeated wherever possible!

    Fair assessment.

The biggest concern for Shralek must be the poor form United have been in the last few games, and the gash defense, particularly after such an inspiring start. And that rumors are Citeh are going to sign another couple of big names in January.

The best thing City could do in January is to sign no one. They seem to finally have found a side that has gelled and signing more big names is not really necessary and may do more harm than good IMO.

    RED CARD Chelsea's Jose Bosingwa

    Mulgrew makes it 2-1.

Chelsea down to 10 men, Bosingwa sent off for denying goalscoring opportunity.

Also excellent for Newcastle, level on points with Chelsea and one behind the mighty Man Utd, yet not a ounce of credit from the media

I thought so too. I could see Bosingwa with a clear hold of Wright-Phillips' jersey although if you listen to Ray Wilkins, you wouldn't have known it.
