My niece stayed at a hotel that let her park her car until she came back.
Sure she said the overnight stay was £75 and the 2 week parking was free.
Not sure of the hotel though.
I , myself have booked the holiday inn in Birmingham for the night before our flight and it is costing my £110 for a family room and breakfast for 4 with 15 nights parking in the hotel. No Eternal Reward Shall Forgive Us Now For Wasting The Dawn

No problem, I actually know a few Central Cabs boys so might see if I can get a favorable rate with them.

You should look into getting a quote from some of the Glasgow taxi companies. Try Network, key cars and hampden taxis. Think they will work out cheaper than an Edinburgh based taxi.

I'm away on Saturday. We just book into one off the car parks in Paisley that shuttle you there and back.
Think we paid £50Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Just been in to look at holidays. £400 cheaper to fly from Newcastle than Glasgow for same holiday. £80 return on train.

Not sure if it helps but getting yourself to Edinburgh airport than the bus to Glasgow airport is apparently pretty easy.

Car hire
Perhaps one way car hire would be cheaper. I do this from Edinburgh to Glasgow Airport with Hertz - sometimes £34 one way.
Collect from East London Street, leave at Gla airport etc ditto return
