Yup. Underwhelming to say the least. We are materially weaker in midfield IMO. Yes we spend some cash but we hardly pushed the boat out.
We’ve got the money through McGinn’s transfer, season ticket sales and the European run this season. A few injuries to this squad and we’re snookered.

My main concern now is if injuries and suspensions start to occur to our key midfielders like Mallan, Horgan etc, we’ve hardly got anyone of real quality to step in during their absence.

That’s us done according to Mark Atkinson...

“As expected, Danny Swanson has left Hibs by mutual consent. Understand that's the club done for the transfer window. No further ins or outs“
Who’s Mark Atkinson and who told him?

They never gave it the ‘business concluded’ line in the article about Danny so I’m living in hope.

Like the stand project you mean? Outstanding stewardship there.
Complete balls up, that's construction, they're not in that business.

We’re underwhelmed because we got a lot of good business done early in the window

    But I’m still greedy

    EEN journalist.

Got to imagine he’ll have a fair idea of what’s going on.

Thanks Mr Atkinson, but it’s normally the organ grinder that makes the formal announcement and not the monkey.

Why would we release two midfielders to sign no one?
To save money and allow them to go out and play football and continue their careers. They are obviously not part of Lennons plans
There will be a few free agents after today and we might want to take one.

2nd was always hugely ambitious and very very unlikely.

I don’t see hearts or Aberdeen being better than us so still every chance of 3rd or 4th imo.

why would we just decide with 3 hours to go that's us?

surely we'd keep making calls until we're actually unable to sign anyone. to do otherwise and maybe miss out would be silly.

We have decent squad but it’s tiny. 1 injury in virtually any position and we will have to change shape. Where is all the money going or are we paying too much in wages? Still hoping for 2 in, especially if Efe situation progresses.

Kamberi and Mallan - fees spent - signed before McGinns money.
    Horgan - fee spent
    ageypong - loan
    hyndmann - 6 month loan
    milligan - free
    bogdan - loan
    maclaren - loan

whittaker, Bartley and Slivka as other options.

    Out
    barker
    allan
    mcgeough
    mcginn

we are such a weakened side this year imo which we always were gonna be but I wish we had pushed the boat out abit. Record st sales, European run, McGinn fee I feel like we deserved a marquee signing especially in middle park. We lack balance. Anyone thinks Allan wasn't needed are wrong imo.

We have to get at least one in. Anyone who thinks we aren’t weaker are kidding themselves. Once we’ve played a few games and injuries etc hit we will struggle.

We are weaker because we are playing Steven Whittaker as our holding mid.
If our business is done then we are considerably weaker and questions need asked.
I don’t think we are finished yet though.

The worry is if we do regress, season tickets will disappear like snaw off a dyke. Hope something happens over the next few hours.

We’ve signed Milligan for that position, Whittaker isnonly okayingg there as Milligan and Bartley are our.

Whittaker also proved on Saturday he’s a more than capable replacement.

Definitely a huge let down if we are done! We need at least another centre half and centre mid in

    Time is running out.

Can you apply for extensions like they do down in England up here? Like if you’re are in the middle of finalising a deal or two and the clock hits the deadline but you are already in the middle of concluding that deal.

Allan gives us less balance imo. Already signed 3 players capable of playing in his position. A great link between a talented midfield and strike force he would’ve been.. a balancing act I think not
