For this sort of allowance who wouldn't drag their body onto the bench for a couple of hours kip before popping out for a free lunch?

Salary and benefits:*House of Lords. Members of the*House of Lords*are not salaried. They can opt to receive a £305 per*day*attendance*allowance, plus travel expenses and subsidised restaurant facilities.

You also get subsidised Food and Beverages..I went years ago and it's actually quite good. Its quite common for our lordships to check in to get the allowance and then go to their members clubs 🙄 They really are "members" if you pardon the pun..😂

To be fair, he did introduce Vlad to Hearts and vouched for his credibility and what a good owner he'd be

George Foulkes was a great friend to us at the time of Mercer's attempted takeover. So was another Jambo, Alex Salmond & Hibs politicians such as Martin O Neill, Jim Sillars & Gavin Strang. I can forgive GF a lot after his efforts on our behalf.

One is reminded of the 'work' he did for the hertz support a few years ago, to highlight the disgraceful way they were treated away at Celtc, and the failure of the police to protect these simple fans. His intention was to travel undercover on one of the buses, and was quick to inform the press of his 'secret' mission. The bus was given a motorcycle escort as soon as it reached glesgie, and Lord George was invited into the directors box (if memory serves).

Oddly enough, I don't remember any follow ups by way of a detailed report on his trip... but then again his Lordship isn't the type of chap to bite the hand that wines and dines him.

Sorry, it doesn't excuse the system of government we have.... and the freeloaders who take full advantage of it.

That's as sensible as saying everyone that voted Yes did so because Salmond is a jambo.

Can you keep your politics on the Holy Ground please?

I think he meant a bloated, privileged twit taking full advantage of our medieval system of unelected government.

    Though I could be wrong.

Steve Cardownie introduced Vlad to Hearts.

George did do the due diligence though, claimed his contacts at the House of Lords had said the Russian money launderer was a business man with a "clean bill of health". I reckon that says more about the HoL than Vlad tbh.
