Let Friday night be the new normal

Did you enjoy Friday night? You know what you can do to make it the new normal. The team wanted our support and have given us some great performances. But we can be better.

A fifth derby win in a row at Easter Road. Another sold-out crowd taking our average up to well over 18,000 for the season. Twelve points clear of Hearts and pushing hard at the top of the table.

This is what we want our new normal to be. Competing at the right end of the league and the latter stages of cup competitions. Playing to capacity crowds and making memories that will last a lifetime.

We have made a strong return to the Premiership, but now is the time to build on the progress, not rest on our laurels. There is still much to play for this season, but we're looking ahead and planning now for the 2018/19 campaign.

Season tickets are on sale now and we want you to be a part of it. The stadium is close to capacity most weeks and the best seats are becoming hard to come by. Don't miss your chance to be a part of another exciting campaign at Easter Road.

Our Early Bird period, with discounted pricing and an installment plan, is available until Friday 6 April. Make sure you take advantage now and sign up for next season.

Define the next generation of this club.

    Generation Hibs.

Anyone think we can get over 14,000 season ticket holders this season?

TBH, I predicted our crowds would drop off again half way through last season, as the euphoria of the Cup win died down, so nothing would surprise me now.

Great time for a season ticket campaign and glad they mentioned the availability of seats. There will be a few walks ups who might think it would be easier just to get a season ticket and sit in the same place. I'm just off to renew my 4 and hope everyone around me renews too because it is a great wee area to sit. If we continue our run of form and get to Europe then I think it will be another record breaking season.

Why not? The fan base is definitely, evidently, there.

People couldn't get tickets for Friday night, which is an almost unthinkable situation from a few years back.

If you want to get to the big games, a season ticket is the answer.

What's brilliant is that Hibs have stepped up to these games, before folk would have come along, been disappointed, then not bothered next time.

Now, they come along, love it, and want more.

Who wouldn't want more of nights like Friday?!

Definitely think we will beat last seasons total I've spoken to quite a number of fellow hibbys over the last few weeks not one has said they won't be renewing their season tickets and a few who are walk ups to few games seriously thinking about purchasing my daughter being one although she may not get seated near me and mrs what a great time to be hibby supported them for 40 odd years never been so excited since the tornadoes days this team and club deserve our backing again as Leeann says let's not rest on our laurels let's push on

I think we should be filing in the corners.

I think Hearts should be thinking of allocating us another stand at the PBS.

Heading up to Perth Friday evening. Best time for a TV game. Hate Sunday lunchtime games. Should be a big Hibs crowd up

Which would give us a real problem. 15,000 season ticket holders would leave less than 2000 walk up places and we have to remember that there are loads of dedicated and loyal Hibs fans out there who simply cant afford to buy a season ticket.

If we seriously were to hit 15,000 which I doubt we will, but if we were to, three things would need to happen:

    1) ... We would need to reserve at least 1000 seats in the south stand for walk ups and that includes games against the Ugly Sisters, but not Hearts, they give us a whole stand and so we need to maintain that arrangement.

    2) ... We would need to ensure that everybody who holds a season ticket and who cant make the game is aware that they can contact the club with a simple E Mail or phone call to release their seat ... I know Hibs are on the case with that, but ST holders need to see it as a responsibility if walk up places are going to be limited ... not so much for the club's sake but to help their fellow supporters who cant afford a season ticket.

    3) ... Folk with kids season tickets for the FF lower are going to have to make a bigger effort to take their kids to the games. Like it or not they are taking up seats and yet game after game there are sometimes hundreds of empty seats in the FF and its clear that the folk holding these seats are making no attempt to let the club know the seat will be empty if for whatever reason they cant make it .... Hibs make these tickets incredibly cheap so that folk can bring their kids along and IMO folk taking their kid along to just a handful of games a season is a waste of a seat.

I know there are a load of reasons folk don't bring their kids along ... but take the Aberdeen game as a case in point ... It was a 3pm kick off on a Saturday in decent weather against a team where even if it is a 'Cat A' game trouble for someone with a kid is highly unlikely. It was also a huge game for us and surely a game any kid with a sense of what's what in the league would want to go to, and yet there were large empty sections in the FF lower. To be honest I can see why Hibs will be keeping a close eye on seats in the supposedly sold out FF lower to see which seats are continually unoccupied.

It’s brutal being a walk up at the moment and getting a decent seat. I bought my two tickets for the derby about four weeks before the match and we had to sit at the very far end of the East. Forget trying to get more than two seats together anywhere decent. Anyone even considering giving up a season ticket should think seriously about the consequences.

It does make seeing all the sold yet empty seats, particularly in the FF, very frustrating. You don’t seem to see that at other grounds. Hopefully the new scheme helps.

We should be filling in the corner of the East/North with a safe standing area for the singing section.

I was at the Aberdeen game in the west and there were very large gaps in the east - particularly at the FF end so I don't think it is just kids season ticket holders that aren't making all the games. Doesn't the club reckon around 10% of season ticket holders are absent at any game? That's about 1,200 at the moment which felt about right for the Aberdeen game.

I reckon we will sell around 14,000 season tickets for the start of the season. I cant see many current season ticket holders not renewing and releasing their seats.
