Took a wee jaunt up to St Andrews this afternoon. It was a unique opportunity to have a photo taken with both trophies. Can't see it happening again.
    Didn't see The 2 Kevin's though. That's a pity.
Still a nice day out and stopped of at that chippy in Anstruther on the way back to sample their renowned fish and chips. Excellent!!

Well the claret jug is the oldest championship trophy in golf and the Scottish Cup the oldest in football, so there is a link all right!

Golf was invented in Leith, on Leith Links.

It's an early step in Leith regaining its position as the home of golf and good football!

When you put it like that, makes complete sense.

I work in st andrews and found out about this on sunday. Went prepared and FINALLY got my hands on the Scottish Cup.

Spent half an hour getting photos. Taking in every detail and generally trying no to greet my eyes out at how bloody gorgeous it looks with green and white ribbons on it.

I had given up the idea of seeing it because i had been so unlucky with working the dates for photos etc. Then it fell into my lap.

Generally made up to have had the chance.
