I think if we didn’t have the BK investment behind us managers like Ian Murray and Rhys McCabe would firmly be in the running however suspect the club will aim higher and perhaps rightly so.

Not sure I get the argument of jumping from one current inexperienced manager to a lower league inexperienced manager.
    He’s hardly inexperienced.
The way he has bounced back from his disastrous time at St Mirren, a job that came too early for him, has been impressive. Sromebody in the top flight will make him an offer.
    Every gimmick hungry yob,

Grabs the mic to tell us,
    He'll die before he's sold.

360 games as a manager isn’t inexperienced in fairness.
I’ve had more games than that as a manager too. I also don’t think I should get the Hibs job.

Hes had 21 games in the top league with a PPM of 1.0. That’s inexperienced and not very effective

So you’d be an experienced manager for whatever level it is you’ve managed at.

Well for what it’s worth I’ve just watched Raith beat Cally thistle totally against the run of play and Hibs “reject” ( unfairly) Kevin Djabrowski man of the match with outstanding saves
Exactly the kind of performance that Hibs could do with on a regular basis.
I’d have Iain Murray in a heartbeat
Would take both back but think maybe misses boat sadly with this daft Bournemouth black knights link up

Missing the boat because we don't appoint Ian Murray ?

    Mental.

Still a chance his old club might do his raith side in the playoffs 😬.
Murray can take a lot of credit for both sides upturn. His teams score goals play on the front foot and are relatively small squads he’s working with. Definitely has credit in the bank as a manager now.
And still plugging away at Goodwins Utd.

I think we won’t be looking his direction whatever happens though.

Your eyes were bleeding as we finished 3rd, reached cup finals, and won plenty games? Aye, okay.

Total myth Ross' football was hard to watch IMO. It wasn't Mowbray, but it wasn't eye bleeding whatsoever.

Don't especially want him back, but he deserves a lot more credit for what he managed here.
Not a myth at all, some of the football was rank rotten under Ross.

Some of the football Celtic have played this season has been rank rotten, a few huns i know think they are sheite.

People on here tell me Kilmarnock are pish away from their plastic pitch, others ask why we are behind crap teams like Dundee and St Mirren.

I will let you into a little secret, Scottish football is made up with a lot of very average players, which lends itself to some rank rotten games, i much prefer being rank rotten when we are further up the league and getting to Hampden regularly.

As there is nothing more certain in football, that you will never win a cup if you dont make it to the final, and since Ross left, we've not even looked like getting to one.

really you sure about not looking like getting to a final. Thought we reached league cup semi this season and just lost out to Aberdeen with us getting a few dodgy decisions against us.

We should have beaten Aberdeen in the league cup semi. Though acknowledging even allowing for the fact we should have got a penalty contrived to blow it by losing from a drawing position playing against 10 men for 25 mins.

    What a strange post

His point that Raith were the poorer team and found a way to win - which hibs don't

Hibs were third in the spl form table a few weeks ago - that's when we had form, not 4 1/2 months ago against Aberdeen

Which has since started to look a lot more like a blip rather than ‘form’.

When Boyle had it in the net?
I thought we had the run of that game but we rarely looked like scoring (other than Boyle’s goal) despite looking the better team in terms of possession

Yes we were the better team for most of that game. Should have had pen and Boyle offside plus a few other chances. Blew it by losing an awful goal from our corner. So poor

I do take your point on this but I am now just so done with ‘should have’ in a Hibernian context.

We’re turning into that Jack Lennon ( Lemmon. Lemmon FFS, not Lennon!) character in Glengarry Glen Ross. Or Gil the salesman from The Simpsons: “Oh, this is bad, this is really bad! You work, and you slave, and you steal just enough for a sweet lick of that shiny brass ring…”

    Now there's a thought

Or maybe Shaun Montgomery? Neil Ross?

Tony Turnbull would be my choice.......

That was kinda my point, we shouldn’t be appointing folk like Montgomery or Fenlon. Or Ian Murray

We lost to 10 men, even under LJ we could beat 10 men most of the time, in fact for a while it seemed like we got most of our points against 10 men.

I'm not saying Iam Murray is not a decent manager, he may even have the makings of being a good manager. However if we are going to be getting solid backing and investment, we need to be aiming at a higher level of manager. Hopefully we will start to attract managers who have won trophies in their career to date.

I'm hoping NM has a stellar second season, but that is part of the trouble, hoping someone will come good, rather than having actual confidence in someone, who has actual evidence of being able to win trophies.

I will be surprised if NM survives a serious review by Black Knight

I agree that if we are going to have money we need someone with a good track record in signings

In my lifetime only Turnbull and Collins as former players can claim "success" with us as managers. Willie Ormand, too, to a lesser degree. Getting former players in "because they know what it means" usually ends up badly, sometimes because the fans have a greater expectation of success and no patience. If Ian Murray has 350 plus games under his belt I'd say he's found his level.

Can't be many above him should we find ourselves in the hunt for a new manager? Is this a popular opinion or who do we think instead? (I'll give you mcinnes no probs)

Also, let's talk jack Ross, not a fan of returners but surely the subsequent years have proven he was doing a fine job? Treated unfairly imo.

Jack Ross was treated unfairly but we can’t and won’t go back. That ship has sailed.

I like Ian Murray, also would give David Gray a chance.
