No good team anywhere, ever, got anywhere pissing away cheap goals.

2 reliable, experienced centre halves are an absolute must, new and improved GK might be nice. Current first choice full backs should do, and I'd be happy to see Megwa and McIntyre challenge them both for their positions and deputise where necessary.

We can play the exotic 19 year old loans players elsewhere in the team.

If we don't get an improved keeper we may as well not bother. Just as important as two starting CBs for me.

Absolutely agree. Don’t want to hear anything about experience not being important at centre half, we badly need it. If Hanlon was a year or two younger he’d have been perfect.

Sign a goalkeeper (mccrorie or kelly?). Sign 2 CB’s (kerr and fish?). Sign 2 CMs (nisbet and 1 other). Sign a striker (Moalida despite my previous thread on him). Use vente properly. Sign ALF. Release stevenson hanlon tavares JDH marshall. Could add more to that list but marcondes fish triantis etc loans have ended along with the fact we cant just release the whole squad.

Fair enough. Good they are doing business early with league cup to contend with early doors.

Stop trying to be the most clever person in the room and just sign players we know work in this league and immediately improve us.

Have a substantial and medium to long term for recruitment and try to sign this window players that will fit that plan. I think I am fairly patient if I can see a plan. I was with Stubbs as you knew exactly what was trying to be achieved and that got results that endured even when Lennon threw the model out. Get back to that or similar and communicate it as clearly as Dempster did. Pin the tail on the Soccer manager approach doesn't work

Sack Monty. Get a midfield, we’ve been missing one for 4-5 years.

Don’t give Newell a new contract.

Do the basics well, don’t go for the next guardiola from Austrialia or elsewhere. Just go for tried and tested in Scotland. Don’t try and be too smart

    Keep it simple!

She wasn't perfect but Leanne got most things right:

    - Get staff in the right positions who understand a) their role, b) the club and c) Scottish football. We've currently got a DOF who is a Chief Scout and a Chief Scout who doesn't have any significant background in scouting.
    - Focus on solid signings, such as your Scott Allans or Dylan McGeouchs (back in the day). A wild, scattergun approach doesn't usually work in the transfer market. Focus on fewer, better quality signings, some of whom are more experienced and with a core of players who know the Scottish game. Signing 95% younger players means results will be erratic. Use our financial resources to beat Hearts and Aberdeen to the next Lewis Ferguson or (dare I say it) Lawrence Shankland.
    - Remember the fans. Money is great and obviously helps the club but being so commercially-driven isolates fans and creates the kind of animosity between fans and the board that's damaged the club for so many years.
    - Give managers time. If we keep sacking managers every 6 months then who is going to come and work for us? Stability is so important in football.

Btw this thread is a dream for Hibs and their comms guys should be all over this. Free feedback basically.

Can we please try and get the spine of the team right. We’ve managed only half a spine and sometimes we’ve even managed to be spineless.

We also need two players competing for every single position.

Surely these things are a prerequisite for any football club and yet we’ve been miles off any of this.

Can we please do our player shopping prior to the start of pre season training.

Every season we seem to hear excuses for poor early results as ‘Once the new players settle in the results will come’

Well3 points in the opening games are worth the same as 3 points as the games at the end of the season.

Get them in early….we know when the season starts so let’s make sure the team is ready for match 1….it’s what big professional clubs do!

    Agree here btw.

    This is massive.

I cannot see it though - we have a whole load of recruitment of staff to happen prior to players.

Unless they sensibly go for someone like McInnes for a few years whilst the rest is established.

  25. #54
Recruit mainly from the Scottish Leagues instead of outsiders/temporary loan signings.

The Jambos have already got the likes of Danda & Spittal on pre-contracts, which imo will be more successful than the likes of Harbottle, Kenneh, McKirdy, etc., which we brought in previously.

Please don’t sell the clubs soul away to American investors whose only interest is bricks & mortar.

    Doh!!! Too late!

Now that it’s been done I really hope that this works. I’ve been reading between the lines about BKF and it looks like we’ll be getting all the best advice on best practice on how the club should be run from top to bottom.

I see big changes ahead in the coming years. Will that equate to success on the park?? I really hope so.

Strap yourself in folks and enjoy the ride.

We are going to sign some good players who are fit and able to improve our first team.
