I never loathed him anyway but Dave McPherson used to drink in a pub I worked in, and seemed a very quiet and unassuming guy.
So I haven’t really met either of the criteria stated by the OP. Ach well, I’ve written it now.

My son worked there in hospitality years ago. He said most of them were okay. Robbie Neilson was really sound. Jamie Walker was a billy big baws and Avril was just weird.

Craig Levein is an annoyingly pleasant man to talk to.
I never really loathed him as such but Colin Cameron is a decent guy.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

Craig Gordon. Recently done a job in his house. Couldn't have been more pleasant if he had tried. Ice breaker was he answered door in a green tracksuit, I couldn't keep my mouth shut & said "what's this". His reply "Well I used to play for Celtic"

Wayne Foster...yes I know. Worked beside him for a few years and he was a good lad. Took a fair bit stick in good humour and never really rubbed it in about 'that goal'.

Jim Cruickshank.
Ah wait a minute, I never loathed him or even disliked him, just noticed the thread title. He was just a great guy.

Good guy and no scared to have a laugh at himself.

Never met him, but I just don't get the Levein love in, disrespects Hibernian at every opportunity. On the other end of the scale, the late Sandy Jardine was a complete gentleman. Special mention to Roy Barry as well!

A lot of comments about Levein, came across him as a teen quite a few times when he was upstairs at Hearts, not someone I'd describe as pleasant however could be due to his circumstances at the club during that period so don't hold it against him.
Met Kevin Kyle a couple times, decent enough guy from the little I know.
Non Hearts but Bobo Balde was a total gentleman. Met him when I was younger and one of the few players I remember being specifically nice compared to others

Many years ago prior to my Sister giving birth to her Daughter Wayne and his Wife Gillian (I think) had tragically lost their baby. Wayne asked for my Sisters address and a few days later delivered and built his babys cot at my Sisters house along with a brand new baby buggy and accessories, didnt ask for a penny either, true gent regardless of his allegiance to hearts
