Is ours to lose imo
Opened up a gap to Aberdeen and a game in hand over Motherwell
All clubs around us play each other over the next month whilst we play 3 games against the bottom 2.
Play like we have in the last month and we could be fighting for 4th

I feel more confident after tonight. 2 games against RC coming up gives us a chance to get going now.

Aberdeen and motherwell are rubbish.
Dundee seem to have the wheels falling off.
Need to win vs Ross county and then beat them again.

We need 9 points against Ross county (x2) and Livi.
Issue is they’re fighting for their lives down at the bottom of the league.

Need at least 7 points the next 3 games to make it likely, preferably 9. No excuses if we can't get that tally against the bottom 2 teams.

Dropped 2 points tonight but if we can take at least 4 points from 2 games against Ross C we should be in a good position to make top 6 though still a big gap between 6th and 5th so Europe difficult unless we win the cup .

I think we'll be comfortably above Dundee and even St Mirren by the split. Probably still 4 or 5 behind Killie.
Surprised the bookies still offering 10/11 for us to make top 6 tbh.
Winning 3 out of the 4 home games and Ross County away will be enough IMO.

With a fair wind I don't think 4th is out of reach. Tough but not un-doable.

I think when you see the games we’ve left before the split it seems more than doable.
However it is banking on us showing a level of performance and consistency we haven’t shown all season, and then essentially winning the same amount of games that we’ve only managed all season (7). When you look at it like that, and the form of the teams above us it’s difficult imo.
Ross County - Home
Ross County - Away
Livingston - Home
Rangers - Away
St Johnstone - Home
Motherwell - Away
On the face of it we could win 6/7. But teams near the bottom scrapping for their lives never work out as easy as we hope.Last edited by Unseen work; 29-02-2024 at 12:36 PM.

We really need 9 points out the next 3 games. Dundee have tough run of games so we should be above them by the split. If we are within 2/3 points of st. Mirren/Killie then 4th is not impossible. Tbh if we end up 5th from where we were heading a few weeks ago I won't be to disappointed but we are Hibs...

Were technically due 2 at home and 3 away post split
Would be due 2 at home, Rangers and Hearts, and 3 away, probably Celtic, St Mirren, and potentially Killie away for a 3rd time. I haven’t looked at how many Killie/St Mirren are due pre split

As mentioned - we have:
Ross County - Home
Ross County - Away
Livingston - Home
Rangers - Away
St Johnstone - Home
Motherwell - Away
Dundee fixtures:
Killie - Home
Aberdeen - Home
Rangers - Home
St.Johnstone - Away
Motherwell - Home
Aberdeen - Away
St.Mirren fixtures:
Aberdeen - Home
Killie - Away
Motherwell - Away
Hearts - Home
Celtic - Away
Killie Fixtures:
Dundee - Away
St.Mirren - Home
Hearts - Away
Ross County - Home
St.Johnstone - Away
Based on that I think Killie are probably too far gone, they'll pick up enough point in their next 5 games to see them clear in 4th.
St.Mirren/Dundee on the other hand are both beginning to stutter and St.Mirren have a tough run of fixtures. We could conceivably catch them before the split.

Both Ross County games and Livingston are games we could easily lose if we slip in to the old Habits of earlier this season.
We need to keep the intensity up and the momentum going and treat every game as though we are facing Barcelona.
I take nothing for granted with Hibs.

9 points from the next three games are definitely achievable.

I’m pretty sure we’ll pick up enough points between now and the split to finish top six now. Winning these next three would give us a good chance of doing better than sixth though, IMO.Last edited by B.H.F.C; 29-02-2024 at 04:56 PM.

If we play the way we did in spells over the last few games then 4th is not impossible. I'd be very disappointed if we didn't get top 6 now and hopefully we do enough so swapping managers is no longer a talking point as we desperately need a settled period

Think today means Aberdeen won't make top 6 - though they play Dundee away - Motherwell away - Ross County home - Livi away - Dundee home. 7 points behind Hibs.
Race for 4th / top 6
Hibs - 8 points behind St Mirren
Ross County - Away
Livingston - Home
Rangers - Away
St Johnstone - Home
Motherwell - Away
Dundee fixtures: 9 points behind 4th
Aberdeen - Home
Rangers - Home
St.Johnstone - Away
Motherwell - Home
Aberdeen - Away
St.Mirren fixtures: 1 point ahead of Killie
Killie - Away
Motherwell - Away
Hearts - Home
Celtic - Away
Killie Fixtures: 7 points ahead of Hibs and 1 point behind St Mirren
St.Mirren - Home
Hearts - Away
Ross County - Home
St.Johnstone - Away
Wouldn't rule out Motherwell also from top 6 - Aberdeen home - St Mirren home - Dundee away and Hibs home

Much needed win especially with us being tired from Wednesday.
Still a long way to go though, you see how competive it is in the league.

I think what has been forgotten is that if we lost today and the next game against Ross County, we would have been only 3 points away from 2nd bottom.
It's safe to say we won't be in any relegation play-off now. There were times last month when our league position was plummeting and we looked in a bit of bother.
Rest up now and get set for a cup-tie shoot out with the Hun next weekend.
