A down to earth guy who loved playing for Hibs.

Hope all goes well for him at Forest Green and pretty sure we’ll see him in the stand at Easter Road one day.

    All the best Doidgy

Actually sad to see him go! Wish him all the best in the future career and beyond.

Made me wonder what his best goal for Hibs was. I really enjoyed his winner at Aberdeen in a 1-0 win.

Evidently one of the good guys both on and off the park.

Scorer of some gloriously scruffy goals as well as a few bangers too.

    Best of luck big man.

Yeh that's the one that springs to mind for me as well, cracking goal.

I would also love to see a compilation of all the goals he scored off his ar*e, shins, shoulder and such there was a point in his first scoring spree where it almost felt like everything he touched in the box went in but half of them were unintentional

See Joe N left a nice message on twitter saying he loved it at Hibs.

    You could tell he did.

The city also Helps with falling in love with the club I think for players, obviously it's the fans etc.

I wonder what a new player does in his first week in the City, obviously you got the castle and a walk up Arthur Seat.

Plenty more things to do like spit on the heart of Midlothian.

After a tricky first few months once he broke his duck he was one of our main men. Him, Boyle & Nisbet formed a great partnership during the 20/21 season. His defensive game was underrated too.

Never quite the same after his achilles injury though. But clearly loved the club and I've got a lot of time for him. All the best Doidgey!

43 goals in 148 apps is actually pretty decent when you consider how many of them were as substitute and also the dire hibs teams he has played in. Often looked our most dangerous player when brought on to try to rescue a game

Good point about his defensive game. Probably our best defender of corners in fact, always seemed to get his head on it.

Very, very close to leaving a legend with two runners up medals. Sure he'll be happy leaving as a bit of a cult hero with everyone's best wishes. One of the good guys.

He only scored 5 goals off the bench in 5 years and only 1 of those helped us rescue a game.

He’ll fly in that league I think .. I hope too 👍 … all the best … onwards and upwards
He needs to! Forest Green are in a bit of bother at the bottom of League 2. Due to them being only 3 miles from me I watch their midweek home games (local football at the weekend). FGR had Dylan last season, and really miss him this season, it will be great to see Christian back at the New Lawn - next midweek is 27th Feb v Wrexham, can't wait to see him bang a couple in

Never thought Christian was at the level we needed to be honest but would never doubt his endeavour, comittment and professionalism. I wish him well on his return to Forest Green the one club he really smashed it previously.

Late to the wake, but I'm really sad that Doidge is away. Have cheerled for him on here on many occasions and will keep an eye out for how he does down the road.

Thanks, Doidger, and best of luck.

Two really good guys and a great example of players that come in and appreciate where they are. Despite Doidge's limitations I never worried when I saw his name on the team sheet, you knew you'd get 110% and nothing less, and possibly a goal that came off a defender, skelped big Christian on the back of the head, and rolled into the net. Top guy, and same goes for Joe. You need guys like these at a club.

Previous posters stating he is a legend and a "a very good player for us".

Behave .. He tried his best and if everyone in the team tried as hard as him we'd be doing far better for sure.

His miss at the weekend unfortunately sums him up as a striker.

All the best Christian and thanks for the EFFORT..

Farewell Doidgy. Your determination and enthusiasm for Hibs was always there for all to see.
You had some lean spells but always fought your way back and scored some important goals for the team.
Thanks for all your efforts and best of luck mate

I meant appearances as a substitute, not goals scored as a substitute

So guess who scores yesterday on his debut?

    Bless his cotton socks 👏
