Nothing that hasn’t been said before, but if we had 11 players out there every Saturday with Doidge’s effort, work rate and commitment to being a Hibs player, we’d be more than alright…
Never threw his toys out the pram when he was out of favour. He wanted to be here and he gave it everything while he was.
Top man and deserves nothing but the best. Good luck & thank you, Doidgey.Last edited by Crutch; 31-01-2024 at 07:27 PM.

Great refreshing thread. Always gave his all - and a good player for us within a good third placed Hibs side.
A bit sad to see him go even if it was probably time - loaning him out was certainly a strange one.
Hope he does well in his future career

I never thought he’d score a goal for us after he missed about four 1v1s up at Pittodrie in the one game. Thankfully he came good, was pivotal in the season we finished 3rd. Shame the injury he had and Covid took it out of him so much.

Going to miss the big guy. Absolutely got Hibs and loved being here. A horrific injury robbed him of his Hibs career.

All the best to Christian. As pretty much everyone has said 100% effort every time he pulled on a Hibs Jersey. Sadly something that can't always be said. Hope he does well down there and will always get a decent welcome at ER when he cones back

Thanks for all the memories ! Some important goals and we will need someone to replace him as otherwise we will become too predictable.
Always gave for the club and wish him well in his new move.
Joe Newell will miss his good / best mate too!

I’ve not got anything to add really, except that me and a few pals know Doidge as Diego, probably in some sort of loose reference to Maradona (I know).
The game never went the way we wanted but when he scored in the semi vs Hearts we were all on our feet chanting ‘Dieeggoo, Dieeggoo’.
Just a wee story there.
I don’t know what it was about him but I really liked him. I like people who score goals I suppose (who doesn’t?) and Doidge had a weird way of scoring them, outside a few screamers mind you.
I’m not sure that we have anyone with his ability to mix it up now mind you.
I wish the big guy nothing but the best.

Gutted Doidge is away, loved the big man. Probably the right decision for all but will need replaced. We have about 7 or 8 technical/pacey forwards but feel you need the option in this league of a Doidge type. Such a pity with the injury coming when it did and never seemed to get completely over it but absolutely not for the want of trying. Gave us his all and all you can ask. Thanks Christian and good luck

Will miss you, Doidgekov, never quite hit the heights but never stopped trying. An example for all to follow. Hope you tear it up at FGR.

It’s that doidge guy that’s away! aw ffss man!😂🤦*♂️
Unconventional at times but effective, his desire deserved more bang for his graft. I still feel he had something to offer, but I understand big decisions need made to help Montgomery mould the team. I’d like to see a cb and now another striker in the fold because we don’t seem to have a striker at the moment. I feel doidge offered us something of the bench recently was missing in the starting 11. All the best doidgey. Discodoidge will need another name change??
