Any budding amateur photographers on here? Or professional.
I have started travelling a fair bit and am considering a book project. I'm pretty good at the creative side of taking photos but never had any proper training on the technical side (aperture, shutter speed, iso, lighting etc.)
Any tips or links?
And I have never invested in a decent camera so any guidance also welcome.

I used to have a Nikon d5200. Now have a canon. Wish I kept my Nikon.
See if there are any local photography groups in your area. Try Facebook. I went to one in north Edinburgh years ago. Was great. Only use manual settings now

Have a look at the specs for cameras within your budget. Then do all the reviews.
Look up youtube for the camera you've chosen/bought and I'd be shocked if there wasn't a load of videos showing you how to get the best from it.
Local groups are good but I'm not sure paying for courses, in person or online, are worth the money.Space to let

How's this for a fluke.
I had bought a damaged tamron lens that had the error 01, so could use only in manual with no fstop. The error occasionly happened so covered the contacts with tipex and happily clicked away.
Took the tipex off yesterday and tried it, working full automatic now (fingers crossed)
