    Grand Slam Darts

Anderson somehow wins his game against DvD even though he missed what must be a world record number of doubles in a short race to 5. Even by his sometimes ropey doubling, tonight he was rotten.

Wright demolished by American debutant Stowe Buntz, who was superb. I think Wright knew it wasn't his night when scored 5 in the opening leg.

Wright was terrible but, the American guy played really well.

Anderson wins 5-1 in his last group game which offsets his 5-1 reverse Luke Humphries last night. Needs Humphries to beat DvD to qualify.

I've not watched much darts recently, but DvD has turned into a real dick. Slow playing, pausing before every throw and yes he has a shoulder issue but I've no idea why he thinks this type of play is a good idea.

Anyway, he was gubbed 5-1 so Anderson goes through.

You’re kidding?! I think he’s up there with the best sports commentators going (I enjoy Tony Romo in the NFL too)… and easily the best darts one!

I guess if you don’t like him he’s not easy to ignore though 😁

I realise that it's the colour commentators job to add a wee bit of something to the game , but sometimes I think he goes a bit OTT He's definitely an upgrade on the pundits on ITV's darts coverage

I don't mind Mardle. He's knowledgeable, quite funny and clearly loves his darts. Glenn Durrant is also a decent addition as is Abi Davies who appears to have stepped right from the 70's in terms of style.

They will soon need someone to replace John Part though - he's a walking heart attack such is the excess weight he carries.

I’m not a fan of Durrant I have to say. Don’t particularly dislike the guy but don’t really enjoy his commentary.

Webster I can tolerate but just think Mardle is head and shoulders. Like I say though, if you don’t like him, there’s not much escape!

Brilliant from Anderson. Tough one next if Humphries beats Searle.

I hope so. My perhaps irrational slight dislike of Rob Cross has grown so much I’m beginning to struggle to watch his matches.

He must get annoyed with that other commentator that refuses to pronounce his surname properly even though he pulls him up for it constantly! It's not effing Mardell! 😡

Anderson is missing to many doubles now , needs to get a grip or this tournament is going to remain a bogey to him

Was a good game and he played well but fell short to someone who is well and truly on the way up.

In fairness, I think that’s his/their own wee idea of a “gag” as they know each other well, if it’s the commentator I’m thinking of (I can picture him saying it) as opposed to him being continuously ignorant!

It doesn’t mean he’s not irritating right enough 😁👍

I backed Humphries a year too early in The World Championships @ 16s last December, he won't be that price again for a few years, pity he was ill when Bunting pumped him. 😡
