Heading over to Stuttgart on the Saturday with the wee man for 2 nights. Not got tickets but hotel is 10min walk from fanzone at Schlossplatz. Can't wait.

I've sent request to WhatsApp group.

knew there would be a catch cheers mate
Frankfurt to Cologne on a regional train will average around three and a half hours with a change which would be 2hrs more than some direct ICE options.

Not a massive issue when it’s free. I’ve always done IC or ICE between those two but regional is popular with football fans for away days who would use the group weekend tickets for buttons rather than paying a lot more for the rapid version.

Because there are so many options on regional trains I’d expect they won’t be as rammed as the IC and ICE on football days and they’re pretty comfy trains with upstairs and downstairs.

If seat reservations are down on IC/ICE then can be carnage.

    It’s a picturesque journey….if that helps!

    Very good price that

We paid a bit more for returns Cologne to Stuttgart. Was a group booking, quickest trains available though and direct.
I got first class ICE single from Düsseldorf to Stuttgart on the Saturday for €40pp a few months ago.

Was very pleased with that price.

Tickets sitting loaded on the App.

There's a whole generation of Scots who have either never seen us at a major tournament or were too young to really go for it last time (I'm excluding 2021 as all the restrictions meant it wasn't proper). I know guys who are just going because they want to be part of it. I'm not staying in any of the cities Scotland are playing in but I just want to be involved in the experience in a country I enjoy visiting with a load of other football fans.

Obviously the World Cup is another level again but I can remember 1998 like it was yesterday. Running home from school for the Brazil and Norway games then family and neighbours coming round to watch the Morocco game. I always wanted to be involved in it and it's finally a chance to do it. It will be fever pitch at home as well, particularly if we get to the last game looking like we could get out the group.

I can't wait now. It genuinely feels like a party I have waited the best part of 30 years to attend.
You have hit the nail on the head here, I feel exactly the same way, it's costing an arm and a leg for the 2 weeks but it's my 1st tournament so have no qualms about cost. We've been lucky getting tickets for all 3 games and I just can't wait for it, my 2 kids are flying over for opening match and we're going to be creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Flying to Berlin the day before the tournament and heading straight to Munich. 4 nights in each city for the games. Then we were considering what to do after and we found £47 flights to Palma, Majorca, so we're going to Santa Ponsa for 4 nights and then either flying back to Germany or home depending on the outcomes.

Liver and bank balance won't thank me but its going to be class.

Yes we did. Could even pick your seats.

It helps we are hanging around after the Switzerland game. Going to the Slovakia v Ukraine game in Düsseldorf on the Friday. No idea what the trains are like (booked up) on the day after Cologne to Stuttgart.

As has been said, they are filling up, so worth booking.

The first class is a decent price, think it was an extra €10.

That’ll be a ‘not me’ in response to the OP then?

Which could have been posted on any other thread or you could have started a new thread to state your opinion. There are plenty on here who would disagree with your comment, myself included. I am looking forward to the Germany trip immensely

I can’t wait to go to Germany. I do agree with the other poster on the international break just gone though, it was a garbage at a time when I’d just started enjoying watching Hibs again. Especially when it was only friendlies we were stopped for.

Recall some info on trains earlier in this thread but not found links when scrolling.

I’ve been using thetrainline app to search for trains between cities. Any reason why I shouldn’t just go ahead and book through there?

Assuming prices will be same, and I can just use digital ticket on that app when time comes?

    Thanks in advance

I’ve booked trains on Trainline and it was easy.

Dusseldorf to Stuttgart on the Friday and Stuttgart to Zurich on the Monday.

Booked in advance on the Trainline for Zurich to Luzern when away with Hibs last year and no issues.
