Why do some choose to call it dropped when referring to these long term club stalwarts... but do not use the same language when its others not starting (like Alf today)

The manager picks the squad he thinks best out of fit players / the starting line up etc... and has made it clear in words and action that he will use 5 subs most a lot of the time and how important the squad will be

I've really started to hate going to Tiny. Nothing to do with Hearts but the mixture of Police Scotland and our most recent supporters make it a stressful and thoroughly unpleasant journey to the stadium and into your seat. What a state they are today and always going to be an issue with a 3pm KO.
