    Watt Nicoll

Sorry if it's already been brought up though I was reading this article about our Manager using a motivational guru who is a friend of his to change the players mindset.

He seems to have worked with some big names in sport . I never heard of him tbh just wondering anyone know about the guy ? . I suppose if it motivates or puts the players in a positive mindset it can only be beneficial 🤔.

Yeah, I know of him, he’s a pretty eccentric character. He’s been up to all sorts, trying to make money. Musician, hypnotist, tv presenter (which I never heard before) and now motivational guru. I went to school with his laddie, Roddy.

Not sure what qualifies someone to be a motivational speaker but seems to be regarded. Yogi Hughes used him before years ago when Hibs manager.

He was big on the Scottish folk scene when i was a youngster with the likes of Matt McGinn and Hamish Imlach et al
The Clancy's and Dubliners would have know Watt Nicoll
    back in the 60s 70s.
He did a lot of humerous, topical stuff too, back in the day.
No so much old fashioned folkie music

There use to be a few folk clubs in Embra when i was growing up.
One or two up the road from ER in Carlton Terrace.where a remember these guys plucking their fiddles !!
I was into all that then ! Nice pullovers and lovely lassies !
A good bit of Watt on youtube. Old and new.

Not to be confused with comedian and singer Hector Nicol who wrote and sang GGTTH in the 1950s

Saw them all. Those were the days. Great times ! (Well what I can remember of them) Sitting on apple crates and upturned apple crates with two planks of wood for the bar. Could hardly see the acts for fag reek. Brilliant.
I'm away for a wee lie down now !!!

Imagining how this thread would turn out if had LJ dragged in some ancient Folk Singer to provide motivation for the players 🤣

Did a session at a training course my wife organised. She said he was very good and his session got brilliant feedback. He has some really high profile clients.

After a few drams on a Saturday night I often revisit these wonderful days via You Tube footage.

He ran a session at my work years ago. I thought he was quite a bizarre character and, excuse the language, a bull**** merchant.

You got no benefit from his visit then, perhaps we need to go for Uri Geller.
