Does anyone here give any thought at all to why these tops are so cheap?
You know, who owns these businesses and the conditions for the workers etc. (Mafia controlled, child labour etc).
Or does nobody give a **** as long as you get something cheap.
You really think the workers in the Adidas factory are getting paid anymore than the factory next door making knock of strips? If that makes you feel better then spend £75 on the strip. The adidas shareholders will enjoy the £70 profit.

Ps - it’s honking anyway. Who decided on yellow ffs!

Do you give any thought as to what conditions your Nike and adidas trainers are made in and by who? Have you ever shopped in primark? Do you always buy fair trade bananas and chocolate? Ever got the bairns a happy meal? You know where those toys are made, don’t you?

I obviously do give thought to this, hence my post.
    Since you've asked me specific questions though, I'll answer them;

I only buy footwear that's made in Europe, my last pair of Adidas were made in Germany. I've never bought Nike.
I never have and never will shop in Primark.
Yes, I only buy fairtrade organic bananas and chocolate.
I've never eaten Macdonalds and if I had kids I'd never feed them that slop.

I've never bought fake anything in my life, it's just how I am I guess.
I think about everything I consume, from clothes to books to films to food to music to media, we're fed a relentless tide of stuff, I like to filter out the ****.

Is that ok with you chief?

I find that almost impossible to believe.

Fair play to you if true. But it’s almost unfathomable to me that anyone could be arsed enough and has never bought anything made in questionable conditions.

More unbelievably, I find it nigh on impossible to believe someone has never in their life eaten McDonalds!

The phone your using was made by kids in a factory so I'd get rid of that too.
Anyway, I like the top apart from those yellow bits.

Your last sentence sounds dumb to me.

It sounds dumb to you that it’s difficult to imagine someone having never eaten McDonalds? A company that sells over 2 billion meals a month?

    Ok.

How far do you go out of interest? Do you audit your appliances and refuse to buy any with parts made in sweatshops etc? Phones/computers and what not?

Course it is, long as you’re consistent in your criticism then you have a fair point. You’ve never had a McDonalds though? Like not even once?!

I think it’s hilarious that theres folk that think it’s hilarious that someone would never eat in a mcdonalds. Most folk do, some folk don’t. It’s actually quite easy to shop more ethically, hes allowed.

I don’t think anyone said they found it hilarious? I’m more just very surprised I’ve met (albeit virtually) one of the tiny amount of people in western society that haven’t ever eaten McDonalds.

I don’t think anyone said the poster wasn’t allowed to do what they please either. You seem to have taken offence on their behalf at folk being surprised that someone has managed to avoid McDonalds, non fair trade/organic chocolate/bananas, all adidas products that aren’t made in Germany, any clothing by other brands that are made in sweatshop's.

It’s commendable. Sounds like it would be almost all consuming though but each to their own.

Sadly I have had food there when I was a child, never as an adult though.

It’s my biggest bugbare about going on Stag Do, quite a few folk in the wider circle will only eat there abroad. Means the group became fragmented at meal times. Soul destroying.

Your not as alone as some on the thread think, I know a few that dont live in the 'circuses and bread' consumer bubble, Through work I meet people who have never been taken to 'maccy ds'in their life quite a lot or queued to buy a soft toy stuffed carrot

Each to their own is literally a term used to show you’re accepting of someone else’s preferences. It doesn’t mean you’re telling someone they’re not allowed to do something. It means almost the total opposite to how you have managed to somehow interpret it.

I went to McDonalds once and also Burger King once. Absolute crap! Never again! I love a burger and find that the premises that make their own and don't buy ready made (pubs, cafes, restaurants etc.) offer much a much better alternative.

I once watched a documentary on how the McDonald's burgers are actually made. How anyone could watch that and carry on eating them is way beyond my ken.
Each to their own of course and just my opinion.

Edit: I know lots of folk who feel the same. We may be hugely outnumbered but we are out there.
