World Cup Winners at Easter Road

Emiliano Martínez will become the latest one to play a competitive fixture at Easter Road on Wed, there can't be many of them.

    Dino Zoff for starters.

Gattuso never played at Easter Road as a world cup winner.

Stéphane Guivarc'h was at Rangers but doesn't appear to have played against Hibs.

Thought Gattuso too but he'd left Rangers before he'd won the WC. Does that still count?

Going back a while but didn’t Rott Weiss Essen have a couple of WC winners from the W Germany team in 1954?

Not a Hibs game, but Jurgen Klinsmann and Oliver Khan played against Raith at ER in the Uefa Cup. Franz Beckenbauer and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge were watching in the old centre stand.

Don't think Kahn has won it.

He was awarded a medal retrospectively since he played in an earlier game in the tournament but just not the final.

Substitutions weren’t allowed at the world cup until some point in the 70s right?

    True, was pre-world cup win.

I think Bobby Charlton was in the British Army team that played in the 60s at ER but not a competitive fixture

Lionel Charbonnier may have played for the Huns at Easter Road, not sure? Again was in a world cup winning squad without featuring.

Callaghan did play a group game and was awarded medal 41 years later!

That's a brilliant one and will be lost on many.

I believe so, Helmut Rahn scored 2 goals including the winner in the final, but appears to have missed the game at Easter Rd.

I'm sure Nobby Styles played for Middlesbrough in a friendly against us at ER.
