Monty tweeting it should be a/s and not tied when playing in Europe, he's right of course. Why are they going with the yanks on this I wonder.

Normally I'd want it to be fairly tight going I to sunday for entertainment purposes. But now I want an annihilation. No single point for American at all, even take a 4 0 from this morning and win it outright by tea time 😂
US captains and vice captains are just a bunch of Ryder cup losers. Was never going to go well.

Morale will hit all time lows for this afternoon and tomorrow if this continues.

What has gone wrong here for the Americans it can’t solely be down to 5 weeks off, I’m not buying these guys haven’t swung a club for that whole time anyway.

    It’s a slaughtering

Me too. That said, I think Donald has coached this team phenomenally.

He looked a different player after he holed his first real putt.

They've put him out 12th tomorrow but hopefully he'll win a point regardless although I think Clarke will be hard to beat.

    It'll be won early.

Yep, nothing wrong with the Americans giving a bit back at a golf event which has taken on more of a football-style vibe. McIlroy has lost the plot a bit tonight.

Some of the 'banter' from the crowd later in the day was embarrassing. And despite the event being in Italy, the accents all sounded suspiciously English. So proud of my country.

I'd like to think that the European players might actually say something or gesture to the crowd to cut out the p*** ('get in the water' , etc) , but they seem to be fine with it. I'd alsolike to think the crowd could create an intimidating atmosphere without resorting to crap chat like that.

Mcilroy isn't getting the Nicklaus Jacklin award anyway!

Never seen many Union Jack's or English flags in the crowds. Seen plenty Saltires.

Wasn't aware or concentrating on flags at all. But that wouldn't necessarily surprise me as bringing a Union Flag to an event where Europe is competing as a whole probably wouldn't be the smartest move these days. Sadly it's become a bit of a divisive symbol now.

I thought of saying 'British accents' in my post above, but nobody really says that. I'd be equally, if not more, embarrassed if they were Scottish accents.

Only a matter of time before we get "xxxx you're a wanchor" a la football. For me anyway, it spoils the viewing especially in the afternoon once the beer is in their bellies.

There was no need for the caddie to be on the green and in Rory's way and trying to stare him out prior to a huge putt. Ridiculous behaviour by the caddy imo and deserved to be called out for it. No doubt a reaction to getting their asses handed to them in the first few sessions. Hopefully Europe finish the job off.

Thought he was dreadful over the two days to be honest. Was carried to a point and a half by Rose. At least he had that one moment with the bunker shot and putt though to leave some kind of positive mark on the event. That they've hidden him at 12 in the order today, well away from the action, tells it's own story. Unless things go very badly wrong it should be long over before his match finishes up.

I was meaning him having a go at another US caddy in the car park later in the evening.

We came close to that at the Open with some of the stuff being shouted at Harman by moronic Fleetwood fans.

I agree with you that the fans are a turn-off when it comes to watching the Ryder Cup.

I've not got a lot of time for golf but, there's something truly special about The Ryder Cup.

Could be 3 shortly. If he wins big he could actually be the guy that seals it.

Looking like we'll be needing his point either way.

It would be epic to see him delivering the win but I'm not sure my nerves will take it.

Hoping the US can take it to the wire to ramp up the tension. Part of me would also like to see some of the more dorkish European fans made to sweat.
