does anyone have any idea if the 2023/24 squad numbers have been confirmed yet?

Just with Friday's shirt release in mind - is there still a chance of any changes? Mainly concerned about Youan 23.

Thats the one planned to be purchased on Friday, and id imagine he might fancy a new squad number such as 9 from Doidge, 7 from Magennis, or 10 from Tavares.

I would assume Boyle will want no 10 back... and unless Doidge goes anywhere he may be entitled to keep 9.

Same with Magennis.

I think Youan will want to keep 23, i am sure that was his number at his old club too?

Don't think he asked for it did he? Did he not say he initially rejected the number 10 because it was Boyle’s old number but was persuaded to take it.

Does that maybe not show a bit of self doubt in the lad, some players would relish the chance to take that number and show everyone that it was justified.

Ryan Porteous did the same with number 5 IIRC, went from 36 to 25 in honour of Efe.

On a separate note and because I’m a sad act, I’ve always half hoped that Newell would switch to number 8 or perhaps 7 at the start of a new season. Something feels wrong to me seeing our main central midfielder rock number 11. Would be far more suited to Youan. And no, I’ve got no plans to get a life anytime soon.
