No idea, but the personal value of owning a few currently makes me very happy

Sure I seen a while back about 19p per share, might be wrong though

Got a lot, nae chance of ever making a profit, would never take it. Pretty sure I might have overpaid for some in the early days

Hard to buy and sell now and the last dilution in value means I probably hold about 1p's worth but some things are worth more than money.

Ta. My old boy had about 25000 shares, just trying to help my mum with executory legal stuff following his passing.

I'm assuming we might be able to donate them to HSL maybe.

Bought 500 in the Duff/Gray time - when the Holding company went down the tubes they went with them - Sir Tom reinstated them after he bought the club (subsidiary). Never had any intention of selling them - especially to Mercer (I’ve still got the letter from him trying to buy them) - or interested in the price. Just now I’m in the process of trying to transfer some to my daughter 😁

Remember that well, I've still got the ******** offer letter and prospectus somewhere. Sent him and his banker pals who were funding the heist what I felt was a very fair and reasonable response. Reply came there none.

I’d have sent him back cat-s**t in an envelope.

They're not publicly traded, so I suspect it's that old favourite "whatever anyone is prepared to pay for them".

Their nominal value is 2p each, which might be sufficient for probate. However, given that there are (AFAIK) currently restrictions on transferring them (imposed by the Board), it might be argued that there is no monetary value.

    I’d buy them if possible!

Sent a few other wee "protests" to a well know Scottish bank via their cash machines at the time, petty but enjoyable.

    Allegedly obviously

Interesting ta. I think there might be an ability to transfer only for hereditary reasons, so they may end up with me.

At 19p a share that’s a big donation. At 2p not so much.

What's your point, other than demonstrating an understanding of basic maths?

IIRC when they went on sale to the fans a few years ago they were worth 2p each, but sold at 4p each in the share issue.

The 5000 I own probably equates to the value of a light bulb at East Mains these days. But it was never about buying them hoping for an increase in value with a view to them being some sort of asset ... anybody who buys shares in any football club, never mind a Scottish one, hoping to make a profit seriously needs their bumps felt.

One thing is for sure. The sort of money the likes of a Mercer would need to offer to get those shares off me would mean the club is worth about the same as Man United or Real Madrid

It would have to be God’s football team before I would sell but as we are already God’s football team it would be like selling from HIBS’ first team to HIBS’ reserves 🤭

Does anyone know if Hibs shares can be traded between existing share holders as opposed to open market trading?

I know that shares can be passed on after death.

Pretty sure such transfers have to be approved by the Board.
