    Boyle 77?

Not that it really matters, but does anyone know why Boyle chose 77 for his number upon his return?

Has hints of early 00's Inter Milan numbering to it 😆

First 2 digits of his PIN so he only has to remember the other 2.

No idea what was behind the idea - but Martin's 77 plus Youann's 23 totals 100 - which would be great if it was to reflect the %age effectiveness of their burgeoning partnership

It's an 'angel number' according to the media reports after the derby.

Not a lot of people know this, but Martin Boyle is a fan of ancient history and customs.

In the 100 ancient Himalayan life images, legend states that image number 77 is an image of a monk boiling rice, ie the Boiler, (Boyler)

That's why he chose number 77 in a nutshell 😉

Wanted 7 when he 1st came but took 10 instead, Tavares kept 10 and Magenis is 7, looks like it's simply his number 7 twice.

He was #17 when he joined

He did when he 1st came on loan, Malonga had the 7 shirt and the next season 7 was taken by McGinn, Boyle took McGeouch's number 10 shirt when he left.

It's the same number as worn by Kvaradona at Napoli and he's off to a flyer

I was more impressed he left out the fact he had had a couple of pints the night before the derby when he mentioned his Mac and cheese and chips. Conveniently left that out 😂, he only found out at half 11 the night before which makes it even better a story how it panned out

It’s not 77, it’s only 7. It just looks like 77 because he moves so fast, think of The Flash.

I reckon it's because Martin essentially sees himself as a number 7 - which is handy as that's a number that annoy's Jambos when it comes to Hibs and Martin likes annoying the Jambos - mainly by scoring goals against them. Number 7 was taken so what's the next best thing? Two of them of course - making 77 a natch
