Got a stag do in March next year and currently considering cities to go and watch a game. Was wondering who has done this before/where they went/was it easy to get tickets etc.. Would need to be flying from Edinburgh.
Was looking at Barcelona in mid March as Barca play Real Madrid. Anyone ever managed to get tickets for this game? Have signed up to Barca's ticket notifications. There would be a group of 10-15 so may make it even trickier.
Any other cities folk have been to a game that they would recommend are also welcome.
Cheers

I'd suggest you've zero chance of Classico tickets.
Best chance of getting tickets for a group that size is a Copa del Rey fixture.

Been to see Malaga quite a few times, unfortunately they are in Division 2 now, but a great day out, and sunshine in March as well

Just checked Spanish fixtures . Weekend of Barca v Real M , Español are also at home ( v Celta Vigo ) Unusual for 2 Barcelona teams to be at home at same weekend . Should get tickets for Español if not for B v RM . Same weekend , 2 matches in Madrid with Atletico v Valencia and Rayo Vallecano v Girona . Seville has flights from Edinburgh and Betis or Sevilla are always at home - both good atmosphere but not usually sold out . Lisbon ?

I have been to an el classico a couple of times at Bernabeu put payed way over the odds for the tickets through a 3rd agent. Also been to a good few other games and you can buy tickets normally just from the stadium a few days before the game (think it is gate 44 or something but could be different now as they done the stadium up. What happens is season ticket holders who aren't going can actually sell their seat for the game through the club. Not sure about 15 together though lol. They also have an English language phone number you can phone to order ticket. Guessing Barca have something similar in place.
Been to Espanyol and got tickets from stadium day before.
Been to Mallorca and got tickets through the hotel.
Been to see Malaga a few times. Got tickets through mate who lived there but can normally get tickets in bars on the costa del sol if you want them.
Been to see Betis a few times and again you can/could buy direct from the club.
Went to see Betis play Sevilla away years ago and got ticket trough a pena. Amazing experience but no chance your getting 15 tickets.
Been to see a few other Spanish teams. Have a look at Valencia. Fantastic city with plenty to see and do with and a no bad atmosphere at the footy too.
Not sure about a stag do but would also recommend Lisbon as a city break to anyone and you got the benefit of going to see Sporting and/ or Benfica. Again you can (or could) just buy the tickets once your over there.
Have a look at Milan as well. Been to see AC Milan and had no problem getting tickets. Presume Inter would be the same.Last edited by DH1875; 10-08-2022 at 08:17 PM.

I was just in Barcelona and it was easy enough to get a ticket online from their site, noticed they were selling tickets for Sat too, a lot more expensive than the friendly on Sunday, I would imagine for a game against Real you may struggle but you never know, alot of these ticket touts sites if you are happy to pay over the odds

Germany is excellent for a football trip.
Have been to both Cologne and Hertha Berlin and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Berlin in particular is a great place to visit.

Nicosia. 100% recommend an Omonoia match, belting atmosphere and a lovely wee stadium, weathers no bad either

Been to FC Cologne and Bayer Leverkusen matches as stag dos and both first class, and tickets relatively easy to come by.
Whilst not the most stag-do-y of destinations, you’ll get tickets for any Lazio or Roma match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, or Napoli at the Diego Maradona Stadium, with no difficulties at all - they don’t sell out other than for the biggest matches.

Worth considering Prague. Excellent stag venue with three teams based in the city you'll likely get tickets for whoever is at home.

Valencia also recommended, the atmosphere outside the ground is amazing. Saw Valencia's other team Levante on the same day (lunchtime/evening ko's) and got tx easy via website).

Only place I have done it is Split. Got tickets for Hajduk no problem, they are sold in bars and local shops.
