    Stats From Sunday

Hibs have published Stats From Sunday on the official site. They show that with the exception of attempts on target we were ahead in every category, even yellow cards! We also comment it was a deserved draw. Great to see the Club reacting in this way, hopefully a copy may be on its way to Sportscene!

PS, hopefully someone can explain what xg means! Most interesting stat for me is we completed 50% more passes than the Tiny team!

xG is expected goals and looks at the quality of the chances if that makes sense. It's based on loads of stuff like proximity of defenders when the shot was taken, distance, angle etc. so in short, Hibs had less shots on target, but were more likely to score from the shots taken.

Thanks for that. Maybe someone could post the stats here, they're very interesting.

This xG model has us even further ahead, although you can see that most of that comes from Rocky's header.

It was a game where a draw was probably a fair result with both team having their moments. To hear Mr Money spinning replay laughably tell the TV that they dominated the whole game is just made to look the utter pish it was from these stats.

But that's them all over isn't it, claiming to dominate a game they didn't and trying to make out they wouldn't have celebrated such an equaliser exactly the way we did .... just a club with no class whatsoever.

Oh and PS .... Sibbick is in the Evening news talking rubbish about how the way we celebrated compared to their disappointment shows the gulf between the clubs. If he cares to check out Kickback there's a 10 plus page thread dedicated to him and how utterly pish he is at defending ... maybe he should read that before spouting off

That's a very interesting graph! It would be even more interesting for a better/less cagey game.

It probably correlates with how I'd describe the action too as far as at which stages either team was in the ascendancy.

That straight line from 31 to 80 minutes isn't a pleasant reminder of things though!
    Mon the Hibs.

I’m no t a fan of xg. Expected saves is even more contradictory. But in this case I’m totally in favour.

He probably has read it and that's why he said what he did. Trying to win the fans over by having a go at us and deflect away from how bad he is. That lot are so gullible it usually works. Lots of them have done it. Levein, Budge, Neilson, Millinkovic and many more.

very true. I’m convinced that “natural order” remark (and a couple of other things he said) bought Levein a good year longer than he should have had with those fans.

even if he and they were made to look very silly in the very next Derby, he knew his audience only too well. They absolutely lap up all that kind of stuff.

Stats can be very deceptive but those just about perfectly reflect the game I watched on Sunday. We were on top for periods, so were they, we had our moments, so did they. We were denied by superb goalkeeping, so were they. We were a bit wasteful at times, so were they. We scored once, so did they.

no one team dominated that match. Draw was absolutely the ‘fair’ result.

Without a doubt. Impressed though that without reverting to childish insults our club is quietly changing the narrative. Good to see Tam McManus back onside as well and he actually makes very good points about which club has been mouthing off!

Stats that are missing - how long the ball was in play (especially 2nd half), how long Hearts players were on the ground doing their carpet impersonations.

Just rereading the Yams hurting thread and the stats above completely disprove Robbie Replay's ludicrous assertion that they dominated the game. In particular our pass completion was 52% higher than theirs. I know stats don't tell the whole picture but I've never seen stats like that before for a team which was dominated! Robbie Rocket!
