A really nice tractor drove past the stadium half an hour before kick off so the home fans had to be excused.

Watched a stream and had a running commentary from a local fan who the camera was picking up. Applauded the Davidson challenge on Porto and then abused the ref for giving it a red.

You could hear a StJ supporter quite clearly on HibsTV commentary moaning and groaning about the ref. Really added to my enjoyment. No surprise at St Johnstone tactics that’s how they’ve played over the last few seasons. Stuffy defensive tactics, diving when anyone comes near them, constantly complaining to the ref. Awful side.

About time they were relegated. That today was chronic. I can accept sometimes you aren't as good as the opposition so have to try and slow the game down, time waste then hope for the best but that was horrible. Offered nothing, went down like they'd been shot constantly and took an eternity for any set plays or goal kicks. If I was a St Johnstone fan I'd be wanting my money back.

It's like they also watched the nonsense from Morton with this referee as they played him like a banjo.

The locals didn't look happy and some of their comments afterwards were funny. They were clearly irked at the celebrations by our fans - heard a few "you'd think they'd won the league" comments. One old boy was shouting 2 Cups! and giving it the vickies 😂

Totally agree, that would put a stop to time wasting.

It wouldn't be an issue if the officials weren't so incompetent at adding on the right amount of injury time but they rarely add on enough. It's not difficult to use a stopwatch to record how long the game is stopped for but they manage to do a crap job of it more often than not.

I've seen better football from Arbroath. Cove, Raith & Queens Park this season. The lower divisions work better in a small format than the Prem does.

At one point ANOTHER St Johnstone player fell to the ground, this time off the pitch up near the corner flag but managed to roll on to the park so play would be stopped yet again. Been a while since I celebrated a goal like that. Horrible team. Got exactly what they deserved. **** all.

Thankfully we got the win but 6 mins added was a disgrace. At least 4 mins from red card to game restarting and there was about 8 subs combined.

Games would end up taking a 2 hour plus.

I wonder if anyone remembers, years ago, did the Sunday Post not used to time the game and publish exactly how long the ball was in play?

I have a vague memory of that figure being around 30 minutes in some games, but my memory might be playing tricks.

Agreed, it totally kills any chance of a game. I’d be fuming if we acted like that against a bigger side like one of the Glasgow lot at home. Imagine your team is drawing 0-0 opening day and are wasting time from the start of the second half.
