Porteous off the ball incident with Morelos

Not seen this on any of the highlights yet,

at the time Porto was going absolutely raging at the linesman.

Has anyone had a clear view of what happened yet? maybe on hibs TV?

Should there have been a red?

I didn’t think there was anything in it - never a red.

He did catch him in the face with his arm but it was just the routine sort of thing that happens during a game when a striker has his back to a defender. The arm wasn’t thrown aggressively or anything.

Nothing in it but he didn’t half upset the orcs, their match thread is funny as, you would think he stole the Queens handbag with their reactions. They really hate Porto and us, makes me feel good though💚

Craigan was pishing his knickers saying JR and Porto were screaming for a red card - surely they just wanted the game stopped so Porto could be seen to?

Anyway, didn’t matter did it? Still beat them with that wee ****ing goblin on the pitch.

There was nothing in it but i dont mind us claiming for it and getting around the ref. That lot do it often enough so why shouldnt we?

I’m not so certain there was nothing in it.

Na they definitely wanted a red card. Was right in front of where I was and they were going daft about it for a considerable time after it happened.

They showed it on Rangers TV which I had to put up with for nearly a half. They said nothing in it but the bull clearly hit him in the face with the back of his hand. Porty overreacted but clearly deliberate from Morelos. Don't know if that is a red or not.

Definitely not a red card, it was possibly a foul but even that would have been up for debate.

Nothing in it for me but would've been interesting to see their reaction if it was the other way round!! Pretty sure Doidge has been done for similar.

Saw Porteous going ape at the game and obviously thought Morelos had taken him out but watching the match back last night it looked a real nothing.
Would prefer if Ryan had just got on with the game unless hurt and left out the punching the ground etc.

Nothing in it, but both Porto and Jack Ross thought there was and were both making it clear to the officials they thought there was. And thats all good, put pressure on the officials.

Wasn’t a red or I dare say a booking either. I think Porto and Ross were going mental because the linesman was right there, saw Porto take a hit on the head which should stop the match and he never signalled the ref to do so. I was about 15 meters away and was shouting the same at the linesman.

Whether it was a card / foul or not, I am pleased that both Porto and Ross (who was going daft for a while) made something about it.

If this is the new "nasty" Hibs, not taking all the crap that they throw at us, then I am all in.

For too long we have seen them get every 50/50, and although it was a stonewall pen I still wondered if it would be given............because it was "them".

Get it right up them at every opportunity, even when its not merited I say.

Player goes in and arm comes into contact with opponents face, would've been a straight red the other way round.

There wasn't much by way of contact, but I agree, what was that hand doing up there anyway?

Morelos was trying to goad Porto into a response, he's a horrible mutant, pie faced erse piece.

Yeah, I was wondering as well what would have happened if it had been Porteous that hit Morelos (accidentally or not).

I don't think yesterday's ref was bad but I did feel for while that he was treating incidents completely differently, in that they seemed to get off with quite a few fouls while our players received yellow cards.

I was glad he gave the pen, we’ve all seen those not given in Glasgow. With the environment, their fans being loud early doors and outnumbering us 4/1 , and their players running about shouting at the ref after the early fouls, he could easily have cracked and favoured them. On balance he was mostly fair I thought.

Red all day long, even though I know it wasn’t it should have been just for being the ugliest footy player since Davie Dodds. Someone earlier called it, Goblin 😉

I only remember two Hibs yellow cards (Hanlon and Newell) and both were impossible to argue against.
I recall a Rangers player getting booked and it again being a straight forward decision.
Other than that the players of both sides were just getting on with playing.

I just heard Craigan say on about 4 occasions that it was never a red. Although he was very complimentary about us yesterday I can pretty much guarantee he would not have made these comments if the situation had been reversed. As others have said it's about time we got streetwise!

It was a good excuse to get the officials eyes on Morelos.

I agree 100% about the yellow cards but I've lost count of the times that opponents at ER should have been booked but haven't because the foul happened early in the game. Again i have my doubts that Clancy would have acted similarly if the situations had been reversed. All we want is consistency.

The way the the's went ape when Porto was sent off, crowding the ref to get him sent off is the way teams go now, we are just late at joining in with this bollox.

Pressure the ref into making a rash decision, huns been doing it for years, we should do the same against them.

The referee was very good yesterday. It was a stonewall pen for me (despite Thomson's views) but by giving it the ref was effectively giving Hibs the opportunity to finish the tie off so there was a lot of pressure on the call but he didn't bottle it.

He got the Porteous incident correct too.

Great to see Hibs being given a level playing field yesterday.

Spot On! Don't forget it was Clancy who failed to send Morelos off for the stamp on Porto in Jan. Makes sense to keep him aware of Morelos potential misconduct.
