Obviously a great result today but another example of us starting very slowly in a match.
So far Heck has shown he can spot when it isn’t going well and isn’t afraid to change the team shape early to turn things around. To great effect so far too so all credit to him.
Is it an issue with tactics or player application? Feels like it’s been a common occurrence for quite a while now, definitely throughout Lennon’s reign too.

It's going to cost us soon, so I hope it can get addressed while the sun's shining, so to speak.

Fair point made. Until we equalised yesterday, I think most of us feared the worst. We we weren't in the game until that moment, as we failed to match their intensity. It's an issue which has been a problem for quite a while now. The coaches need to be banging on about this.

If we started with a whirlwind and went 2-0 up in 15 minutes, we'd probably just fade out of the game near the end and lose 3-2.

I am not too concerned for this season, we have top six and there appears to be a feelgood factor coming back. The squad is wafer thin yet we are getting the results.
It would be great if we could start well and continue but I think this is part of Hecky's learning period. He has admitted in a recent article that he has come from a place where he knew the league, the players, the managers and the expectations inside out to a place where he knows next to nothing therefore he is on a steep learning curve. I think the consequence of that is that he won't always be able to set the team up perfectly to start games but we have seen clearly that he has the ability to recognise what is happening, change it and finish the game
I will be interested to see how we play against Celtic and then Hearts - second time for each team!
I said somewhere else, Hecky is the real deal.Last edited by proud_and_green; 08-04-2019 at 03:28 PM.

Made a small fortune on Hibs winning both teams to score in away fixtures. StJ, Dundee, livi and hearts it's like we take time to suss out our opposition then decide what the plan of action is - so far it's worked.

In an ideal world we would love to dominate for 90 minutes but Heck is peeing with the ***** he inherited and it was fairly small and impotent. Maybe Heck's magic viagra takes 15/20 minutes to take effect.
It may have something to do with the quality of the squad. We really have very few options and Heck may set us up and then tweak to get that last we bit out the team. He talks often about small changes so maybe it is simply that watching games live gives him info that you simply don't get watching on screen. You also have the slight changes in personnel/shape from game to game and even if you watch the previous couple of games from your opposition they are playing someone else and maybe on a different surface or a smaller/bigger pitch.
I think we have to be performing very well and spot on in our shape to beat most teams in the league due to the quality and composition of the squad. That match winning formula maybe is Heck and those small tactical changes. Let's hope with a squad full of his players that we can look god from the first whistle but in the meantime 2.5 points on average a game is unbelievable.
