Rare Manchester Utd v Hibernian programme 1948 for auction

Great Western Auctions, in Glasgow are auctioning this lot which might be of interest. I have no connection to it at all but perhaps worth a look?

For sports fans generally that are quite a few other items of interest

That's a lovely old item. Would the green (leather?) holder have come with the programme or would that have been something the owner had made themselves?

Looking at the date Sir Matt Busby would have been the Man Utd manager. He always had great affection for Hibs after guesting as a player for us during the war

The programme itself is not mega rare, in fact it’s possibly the easiest to obtain from that season. However I suspect the green cover means it was a directors programme. There will not be many of them kicking about.
