    Sky sports - the debate

Forgot that Lennon was on it tonight, as I turned over he had just finished talking about hibs. Anyone catch what he said?

He was talking up Hibernian and the club, city and squad. He said Heckingbottom is taking over a good young team that are through in the Scottish Cup and they should make the top six.

He did say we have been inconsistent and he also said Heckingbottom should know the structure after going through the interview process.

He said he enjoyed his time at the club, loved the football we played in the past couple of seasons.

Didn't catch it but I think you can get The Debate on catch up and if not there are podcasts.

Water under the bridge ....... he is/was a troubled lad, who, for whatever reason, just couldn’t hold it together. I wish him all the best in the future.

I will listen to this 👍 Nice to hear him say these things. Despite everything, he made an impact on every Hibs fan that'll never be forgotten.

    Wish him all the best.

Same, I don't know why any Hibs fab would think differently.

Loved Lennon while he was here, wish him all the best for the future.

Ah - now we know this just isn’t the way it works on football forums were a fickle bunch...

    Heckingbottom's hamstring?
    Heckingbottom's humerous?
    Heckingbottom's hymen?
    There's a few suggestions.

May I suggest Heck's Bottom as your new user name?

Surely Bottom's Lip is the obvious choice.

I think people are still feeling bruised by the break up.

Nice Valentines message from Lenny to Hibs though!

It all sounds like an Agatha Christie or an Enid Blyton book

hopefully it’s more like Victory at Heckings Bottom 🤞

Lennon's a decent bloke and coach, he has his wee demons that at times he can't control and this last few months he seems to have had problems which he couldn't control, whatever did happen it seems he holds no grudges which means he probably accepts it was his doing, the fact it was a mutual leaving means he'll get another job fairly quickly.

Didn't seem to be any animosity or bad feelings toward the club or any individual(s) was expressed. His behaviour and demeanour suggest some of the wilder invented accounts of the reasons behind his departure are very far from the truth.

Agree, and if any of the stories were near the truth then given his character he would have probably alluded to it by now.

    Thanks for the memories Neil.

Yeah miles off it would seem, some or probably the majority of the stories have been pure fiction.

I love Lennon; he's the best Hibs manager in my lifetime and I wish him nothing but the best. Last season was one of my favourite seasons to watch Hibs play.

Yeah he gave us 2 great seasons ...feel no ill towards him at all and wish him all the very best in his future. It's a shame it turned so badly for him and us this season but time for us and him to move on.

Very grateful to NL for his time in charge. He seemed to fit in well with the ethos of Hibs and raised the profile of the club immensely.

Wish him every success in the future.

Likewise, unless he ends up managing a team that's playing against Hibs, in which case I wish him two hours of unrelenting frustration and disappointment.
