    Team v Motherwell?

    Thoughts?

Porteous/Gray in for McGregor/Whittaker if they're match fit. Possibly Shaw in for Slivka. The rest is fine.

Can’t see it being much different to yesterday.

Certainly wouldn’t be bringing Shaw in for Slivka and having to change the shape.

He'll be in no rush to bring Porteous back too soon, let him recover properly. Unsure what the keeper situation is though.

Was Whittaker poor yesterday? If not I don’t think he’ll be dropped - he’s Lennon’s go to player and one he called out as being fit when called upon.

Despite the complaints from the vocal minority I think Lennon will stick with him.

The couple of chances they did have came down his side. On the flip side he set one up and won the first penalty.

I agree with your last sentence though. Lennon said he was going full strength yesterday so I think he sees Whittaker as having the jersey just now. Would have been the perfect game to put Gray in to try and build up some match fitness.

Very interesting that you picked yourself Sir David! Injuries all behind you and raring to go? For what it's worth I would pick you too....

No Hanlon because it’s bound to be a very physical game and he struggles with that side of the game. Also, and it’s an unpopular opinion, but I’ve really not been impressed with him since his return from injury and think Daz and Porto would be the best fit for this game.

Probably would have had time to recover over the winter break but I think Hanlon was rushed back too fast over the festive period, I don’t think he was playing to full match fitness which would have had an affect on his performance

Pretty sure Mallan’s suspended for this one due to picking up 6 bookings

Got an assist and won a penalty, so good chance you're right.

    Bogdan/Rocky (whoever is fit)

    Gray Mcgregor Hanlon Mackie
    Gauld Marv Omeonga
    Slivka Kamberi Horgan

I'd go with this team following the comment above, which I think is correct about Mallan.

Why are we playing Kamberi as a lone striker all of a sudden? Doesn’t work

Hmm, not sure then. Was reported following the Hearts game that he'd be out https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.c...arts-1-4851586

Because Shaw isn't good enough and Maclaren is away

Nonsense, Lennon has acquired an attacking intelligent playmaker which allows him to start playing players in their proper position, many many teams play with only one up top and are highly successful, Celtic being one example, Man C, Man U, Spurs,Chelsea, Arsenal etc it's the qulity of players around the striker that makes the difference. I think we may see Lennon play 4-2-3-1/4-4-1-1/4-3-3 more often, he brought in Hyndman, Agyepong, Horgan, Mallan all clever attack minded players, unfortunately Hyndman didn't reproduce his form from Rangers and Agyepong has been constantly injured, so he tried Horgan through the middle which didn't really work.

I'd just go with the same team as started V Elgin.

SDG/Porto in for Whittaker/McGregor wouldn't make us any worse though.

I don't think any of the midfield deserve dropped to make way for a second striker - although I do prefer 2 up front.
    Mon the Hibs.

Works perfect if you have an attacking midfield setup.

Exactly. We need to find the right balance behind Kamberi and start playing some football in the midfield opposed to lumping the ball up at him.

Only if the lone striker can hold the ball up or it will just come straight back, probably in the air.

That link states near the top that the list if for "SUSPENSIONS INCURRED BETWEEN 11/01/2019 TO 17/01/2019". Mallan picked up his 6th booking before that, so won't be on that list.

With Mallan being suspended I can see Omeonga going straight in.

On the 2nd page it states players from the premiership who were booked in December too, Mallan isn’t on it.

It is the SFA though so they might be wrong

True, good spot! According to the Flashscores app he has had 6 bookings in the league though, with the last one being against hearts.

Maybe their stupid "it takes 14 days for a suspension to kick in rule" affects when they appear on lists like this. I'd actually trust a 3rd party app over the SFA, as daft as that sounds.

Looking forward to the game, anyone know how many tickets we have sold?
