Cowdenbeath aren't happy about the decision.
"The referee's made his decision and we've got to abide by that, but we are hugely disappointed," Ewing said. "We didn't call the referee in. We felt the pitch was fine."Cowdenbeath manager Gary Bollan added: "The decision was taken there and then. Come kick-off time I think it would have been playable. If it was Berwick Rangers the game would have gone ahead tonight in my opinion.""We were confident that the pitch was good," Ewing told BBC Scotland. "Some of the Rangers staff arrived and the next thing there were discussions with the SFA and they wanted to send the referee along. It's their game and we've got to abide by that. It was a local referee that was called out and in our view it was only a precaution."Last edited by Eyrie; 18-01-2019 at 06:15 PM.

I had seen on the BBC website that the chairman wanted helpers at 11:00 this morning for taking off the covers.
Thought at the time it was a bit early, 3-4 in the afternoon should have protected the pitch?
Still, Gerrard gets his Scottish Cup debut under flood lights at Central Park, Defoe and co. won't know what hit them!!!!!

I'm all for a conspiracy theory but is it really in Sevco's interests to squeeze this game into a midweek in a few weeks' time rather than play it tonight?
Cowdenbeath are guff and there is little chance of an upset. I could only imagine they'd want to get this one out of the way and move onto the next game.

Utterly predictable that after 2 weeks of completely benign weather, the first week back would see weather based cancellations.
The winter break is a total nonsense.

Couldn't the fans have just got together and organised a bit of an orange March on the pitch regardless?

"I did not need any persuasion to play for such a great club, the Hibs result is still one of the first I look for"
