Seems a bit dismissive of us to say that. Imagine if the Old Firm called for us and Hearts to share a ground because our rivalry isn't as fierce as theirs is. It's all relative. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I would of thought Scotland would be a good place for people too invest big in a team.
Wouldnt take much to get to Champions League.
Get to Group stage recoup about £20 million minimum.
Theres so many rich owners in England....Theres not much return these days.

As for the Leith thing, if you are brought up there you should be connected to Hibs.
My grandad supported Hertz & I was brought up in Gorgie.
My only connection to that mob is i hope they get rammed every week.

He has very firm family connections with the club given his grandfather bailed out the club in a time of need and his brothers support(ed) Hibs. He didn't attend games as a boy and admits he was not into football, yet since taking control of the club he attends games when he is fit and well and this view (and that of his family ) may have changed over time - he was on the open top bus after the cup win and was like a kid at Christmas
So you're comparison was totally wrong

The hook for any watching billionaires isn't just the relatively small amount they would have to spend to propel a non old firm team into the Champions league. There is also the fact that there is scope to grow a Scottish club and of all the clubs out there Hibs are absolutely the prime example, we have proved that we can grow our attendances under the right circumstances and there is room for stadium development. It cant be ignored or denied that if any Scottish club was to break the old firm monopoly it would draw attention from all around the football world and the kudos an owner would get from that would be very attractive if you ask me.

When you consider the huge sums you have to spend just to keep a mid table EPL club standing still, I cant see why spending ( comparatively ) far less enabling a Scottish club to break the Ugly sisters duopoly isn't an attractive proposition. If you ask me the publicity and exposure that would bring should be grist to the mill for yer average everyday billionaire looking to invest in football.

On the subject of the two Dundee clubs. The last thing Scottish football needs is two of our top 10 supported clubs merging, its not as if we are awash with big clubs as it is. It would be tragic to lose the Dundee derby as well.
But given the proximity of the two grounds I don't think a shared stadium would be as big a deal as it would if Hibs and Hearts shared a stadium … The money to be saved in running costs and the like for both clubs would surely suit them both.
I see another poster suggested playing at one stadium while the other was redeveloped and then moving into the new stadium and selling off the other. I doubt that would wash with one set of supporters, at a guess Dens park looks like the best site to build a stadium on, but I doubt the United fans would accept both clubs playing at what would in effect be Dens park by another name once the shared stadium was up and running. The best bet would be to sell off both grounds for redevelopment as housing estates or whatever and move to a new site ….. hopefully not miles outside of the city like Aberdeen are planning.

If they built one new stadium where they are now, they would still free up a lot of land for redevelopment.
A groundshare looks compelling because of the ludicrous proximity of the two clubs. It just makes so much sense.
