Block set to sign for Hibs

Looks like young Tommy Block has impressed in his two trials with Hibs - he is set to sign - https://www.bognor.co.uk/sport/football/non-league/bognor-midfielder-all-set-for-move-to-hibernian-1-8744353

Interesting. Cheers for that Steve. Haven’t heard much about him since he came up here other than the name being mentioned a few times.

As you will see in his quotes he speaks very highly of how he has been treated while with Hibs so far.

Good news. Does this mean we're choosing him over the Canadian guy?

Be interesting to see how this turns out. One from left field so hopefully it's a success story.

I thought the Canadian was a center back and Block was a midfielder so not sure why would be choosing one over the other?

I was under the impression both could play in defence and midfield. Guessing we'd sign one as a backup for a number of positions but primarily CB.

Block is very much first and foremost a central midfielder - defensive midfielder. Has filled in at centre back for Bognor because of injuries, but much prefers midfield.

Love these sort of signings, hope he kicks on here!

Enthusiastic over this one. The lad seems to have a good attitude!

    Thanks for the updates.

I suspect you won’t know the answer to this one but do you think he’ll be in and ready for the first team or is he likely to be a bit away from first team football at professional level?

Get him in the wall when the opposition get a free kick.

Lots of good players came from non league, Vardy, Bullard, Ings, Austen, Crouch, Smalling.

Sounds like the laddy’s got a great attitude, he knows he has to work hard to succeed as a footballer and seems willing to do so. Look forward to seeing him in a Hibs strip.

Have we got a song for him yet?

I wish the lad well, but he is at the end of the day one for the "development squad".

I'm much more excited by players that can impact the first team immediately - fingers crossed for the January window.

He certainly seems keen to impress, and obviously done good enough to be offered a contract if this is true.

He's also prepared to uproot and move to Edinburgh at a young age, when i'm sure he could probably have picked up a club nearer home.

He must have been impressed with us, and i wish him all the best.

Lennon will have to keep him on a tight rope - if he doesn't perform he'll get hooked.....

We got our fingers burnt with Jamie Insall, hopefully this lad has his head screwed on.

One for the development side or a building block for the future
