Thread: Emerson Hyndman

    Emerson Hyndman

Deserves a thread of his own for that performance, came on at half time and we looked so much better going forward. Has to start against Celtic now IMO.

Outstanding when he came on, completely changed the game. Looked good to actually have a midfield in the second half today. Horgan played his part too done well and great ball. Slivka was class second half as well.

I like him and think he's a really good player.

It's a bit of a mystery to me how he hasn't done more for us.

Hopefully that sound I'm hearing is pennies dropping for a lot of Hibs fans wondering what he does.

Wasn't there today so can't comment but let's not rewrite the past few months where he has been in the main poor and ineffective. Another who clearly has ability but hasn't shown anywhere near enough.

I know that.but he hasn't always picked him when fit.
he's had 1 and a half great games v Hamilton and a few other decent spells.
i relly hope he kicks on but up to now he hasn't done enough

That could also be an agreement with Bournemouth though, he is rated at millions so unless he is near to 100% then they may have advised he doesnt play, he is their investment after all

    Rated at millions. really??
he should be 1st name on our team sheet

Whilst I agree that he's not been amazing. We've really struggled without him for 7 games and he's come back in today and we've won. So there must be something he brings to the team.

He was class in the Aberdeen game when we pumped them 0-0.

Not having a go at you but that would be another player who gets better the longer he is out the side. When he signed and heard what the Huns thought about him coupled with his YouTube video I was delighted but with the odd exception he's not shown that form anywhere near enough. Agree though re Aberdeen game he was excellent in that.

I actually agree with you. He's flattered to deceive and I'd have had him sent back but you can't argue that our record with him in the side is better than our record without.

So whether he's class or it's simply that his presence brings us better balance or opens up space for others, there's definitely something.

Against Aberdeen in the league cup he showed enough for me.

When celtc thought McGregor was on his way out they looked at Hyndman on the back of his the rangers performances, Bournemouth valued him at £12m

I didn't know that but I'm not convinced him playing in the past 8 games would have ended up with better results. Maybe he's just a lucky omen 😀

Between the two of you it didn't take long to bring back a feeling of absolute dejection re Hibs performance.

Couple of seasons back, just before he established himself in the celtc team, they thought they were losing him down south and had enquired about Emerson, obv they bolted when Bournemouth priced Hyndman out, prob because a couple of German teams and Spurs were waiting in the wings

Played really well and made a difference when he came on.

But let's not kid ourselves, Hamilton's midfield is probably as bad as we'll meet this season. They're awful. We didn't need a DM today and all our creative players had more time and space that they've had in weeks. His value will be shown against better opposition and over more than 1 game.

So we didn't need Stevenson in DM today then? We'll just play with 10 next time. Be that easy.

Big difference actually seeing what a player can do rather than hearing about he maybe able to do.

I think we have all seen what he can do before today? For me he just needs a run in the team.
