    Easily distracted?

I find that as time goes by I am getting more easily distracted.

Sometimes I have to have internet access to do certain tasks, and the internet is a huge box of distractions, and I find that I can lose days to being hugely unproductive and getting very little done.

You may notice that on these days, my post count rockets. Youtube, hibs.net, other social media, gambling sites.

Does anyone have any hints or tips on dealing with this?

Sorry I can't help out - I've mostly been distracted with watching twerking videos for the last ten hours or so 😳

Don't know if you have Facebook but if you do, delete it. The moment I finally got rid of it was liberating There are many ways to keep in touch with "real friends" and family. Whatsapp, Instagram etc without being sucked in to scrolling through a zillion pages of utter crap you're not in the least bit interested in.

I recommend getting into a deeply pointless argument with one of the pigeon chess playing posters on here. Not only will you lose the will to browse and post, you'll probably lose the will to live.

There are various programs/browser extensions that can block certain sites for certain time periods Ė so you could sit down to work at 9, knowing that hibs.net, Facebook etc are inaccessible to you until lunchtime, but you still have internet access to do your job. Some examples of programs here: https://focusme.com/blog/5-simple-we...-productivity/

Obviously this doesnít help if you just turn the blocker off when you feel like it, but having that extra barrier may help (and I believe in some cases, once the timeframe is set thereís actually no way around it, even uninstalling the program etc).

Havenít used any of the programs myself so canít vouch for them.

I used to use a similar browser extension until, ironically, the extension itself was blocked by my work. I used to set it to exclude certain sites (this one included) for a few hours in the morning and the afternoon.
