6 friends and I set off to Berties for our tea this afternoon :-)

First day nerves - it didn't go proper smoothly but it went well enough. There were 3 or 4 people had attended to out needs before we'd even sat down! The girl that took the order wasn't familiar with the hand held ordering device but did well and we all got what we ordered. There was no draft cider available and then thankfully there was!

It's a decent menu and I'd like to describe more of it but we all had battered haddock and chips! The only 'complaint' was the large looked remarkably similar to the 4 standard size. No mistaking it was a lovely bit of fish though with proper chippy chips and a very nice home made tartare sauce.

The food prices throughout the menu were what I'd expect, not too expensive, in fact pretty decent for a sitdoonery. It would match the pubs in the area.

The drinks were £5.50 a pint, £3 for a bottle of coke, £4.95 for a bottle of still water.

We got the bill, it was obviously the wrong one!

The right one was more expensive.

Season ticket discount applied and a discount for booking online.

See when I said it was decent for a sitdoonery. It was very good value after the discounts!

I'll be going back ... I might even take my wife!

Ridiculous. All Crolla restaurants are overpriced.

I was in Vittoria before the game last week. 3 mains, 2 starters (one of which was for 2) and a side along with 3 cokes was £45 with the ST discount which I thought was decent. £4.95 for water is scandalous though.

The food is good, but the portion sizes are on the small size. I expect to be reasonably full after eating a starter and a main.

I got charged €14 for a bottle of water in Monaco in a restaurant. Never really noticed it in amongst the bill because we’d spent a lot and had bought a lot of different items but I couldn’t believe it when I noticed it later.

Just had lunch at Berties. 50% off food this week - cracking fish supper it has to be said. Tap water was free. Like Jack said though the waiting staff a bit to over-attentive. I had been asked about half a dozen times if my meal was ok (guess they're new and keen). Only criticism is the lager's a bit dear for me, I'm a tennants/fosters/carling/carlsberg guy so a pint of that at £4.50-ish would be more appealing than an Innes & Gunn at £5.50, still it was a well poured pint.

Good to see they're doing the 20% off for season ticket holders. I'm sure i'll pop in after an away day sometime when we get back to Waverley.
