Squirrel this morning reminded me so much of Ivan in the early days coming on at Parkhead in our 3-1 win.

Immensely proud of Martin Boyle tbh. Came to us in a tough time and was very raw. Established himself as an important player and improved himself massively. Now making an impact at international level. A brilliant story.

1-1 draw. My mate said he was impressed with Boyle.
We should look at Josh Risdon. Too good for Australian football.Last edited by Hillsidehibby; 17-11-2018 at 12:29 PM.

That call never fails to get me.
Either the guy was a complete idiot or a typical Jambo.
I prefer to believe he was both.

However Oz IS searching for a ‘goalscorer’, and I feel Jamie did not do anything last night that cemented it being him.Last edited by Forza Fred; 18-11-2018 at 08:05 AM. Reason: Sp

You should really tap into the relationship you've created with the Aussie football side.
The country is well aware that Milligan is at Hibs, he's been a very solid player for a long period of time, he's had a myriad of visa issues over the last decade hence why he's never really played in Europe until his now 30's. Arsenal had a good look at him in his early 20's, Palace had a good look about 2 years ago as well, but as I said, he doesn't have an EU passport and could never get a Visa as Australia dropped out of the top 50 rankings. He's been to 3 world cups.
There's another 10 like him getting around at the moment in and around the A-League that could come to the SPL and more than take it up to the likes of Rogic etc at Celtic. Risdon was mooted with a move to the Russian league after the world cup, where he played pretty well, he's improving every game for the national side, to the point, he's probably become a lock at the moment. He was close to MOTM on the weekend.
I'd suggest Craig Goodwin as pretty get able at the moment, who had a few pretty decent seasons in the Eredivisie at Sparta.
Riley McGree is every bit as good as a young Rogic, he's currently owned by Brugge, but again has been loaned back to the A-League, so there's scope there down the track.
Plenty others like them. Australian's tend to follow other Australian's to clubs in Europe (Also clubs that have invested with success in Australia tend to keep going back there), the great Leeds side of the late 90's had about 5-6 Aussies in that squad. Kewell, Viduka, Okon, Foxe etc.
If you ever need a GK, again, great place to recruit as we've produced a ton of good ones over the last 2 decades, Danny Vukovic for example played pretty much exclusively in the A-League for around 12 years, was seen as one of the best 3 or 4 keepers in the league and at 32, moved to Genk last season and has been starring.
Mat Ryan is doing extremely well at Brighton and was an A-League product, Schwarzer, Bosnic, Kalac, Jones all forged pretty good careers. We generally produce a fair amount of GK's because of Aussie Rules, Rugby etc being main sports played by young kids and obviously hand eye co-ordination is a big thing.
No reason if you carve off 4-5 of the best young emerging Aussie players in the next 2 years, you couldn't give a title a real crack.Last edited by pykie; 18-11-2018 at 09:27 PM.
