Apology's if this has been posted elsewhere, but I just saw this interview on the ABC:

    This is really annoying

I wanted him to drift in and out of a fake aussie accent ala Steve McClaren with his dutch accent

Delighted for Martin. He’s a vital player for us, although he has been a wee bit of the boil in recent weeks. I think he epitomises what hard work and quality coaching can do. Stories like his are only good for Hibs, raising our international profile and showing would be signings what can be achieved.

His story is an incredible one, some progress he's made in the four years since he was valued the same as an underperforming Alex Harris. He'll be 29 by the next World Cup, and with Australia a strong bet to qualify, could even grace the very top level.

Great for him, great for us. Big Eck will regret this.

From a purely selfish (Hibs) point of view i wish his old man had been born in Northern Ireland or something instead of Australia. Will be a nightmare for us when he's out there most of February (i think). Great personal experience for him though and hope he does well.

There's a star man playing on the right.
His name is Martin Boyle and he's eating Vegemite.

Comes over really well. Hope it works out well for him and we get some benefit from it.

    On the telly again today.

Expectations will be met if he casually scores a hattrick while blowing on a didgeridoo.

    No pressure.

Wonderful story and example to every footballer. I still think Scotland have missed a trick but chuffed to bits for him.

Playing against South Korea will be no cakewalk.

One of the best teams in Asia, tough as boots and not bad technically either.

Martin will notice the step up from club football in this one.

He doesn't have a cap yet, why is everyone so sure he'll be in the Asia cup squad?

    Spot on

He’s up against serious opposition just to get into the side.

One of his direct competitors is Matthew Leckie, and he was arguably Oz’s best player at the World Cup.

While he will most certainly get a game in these two upcoming friendlies...he certainly isn’t assured of a place in the team after that.

Playing Tuesday night in Sydney v Lebanon .
Farewell gig for probably the best Aus player ever - Timmy Cahill .
As a Hibs fan based in Sydney who will be at the game I’m really keen to see our three players on the field at once .
As a Hibs fan in general I’d rather they all got a rest and didn’t play 😉
