I hate to be reasonable in the face of such yammery, but I think he was talking to his players rather than the watching audience.

He's got them believing that they're special and he doesn't want them to start doubting that particularly going into the 2 week break.

Neil Lennon wouldn't say that another team was better than us regardless of the manner or margin of defeat.

I think Levein's comments are understandable whether they're right or not.

I do hope so. Hearts hubris is fun. Let them think they are world beaters.

Maybe, but having just read Alex Ferguson's words on the Title Challengers thread, I think he's trying to create a similar mentality at the PBS.

I'm certain NL is doing the same at ER.
The remark was tongue in cheek . In the main I agree with you, but the difference is that Lenny doesn't regularly insult the intelligence of those watching his interviews, though there are a few managers who approach them with the same disregard for factual content as oor Craig

I'd like Hibs to play the previous 10 Scottish cup finals we lost again as the outcome might have been different
Could we make that the previous 9 pre 2016 just in case

Genuinely stupid comment to make. Better to take it on the chin and get on with it.

They were doing better with 10 men, 1 man less to play Rangers onside

  12. #41
They won the foul count again 26. Would like to see the whole seasons they must b top of that league too.

Craig Levein is the epitome of all things Hearts - classless in both victory and defeat.

Seemingly they aren't as bad as Dundee, TRFC or Aberdeen...

    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scot...id/2018/plus/1

...but that ignores foul count, which may well go against them as they love a niggly foul in the centre of the park.

  15. #44
Lets not forget they won the 2nd half 1-0

If we hadn't given them 2 goals, and we'd signed Messi in the summer and we'd been allowed to field 2 goalies and Rangers started on - 3 goals...

Especially amusing to see Potter's 'mass charge' offside tactic backfire on him. It's a classic 'Dr Football' move designed to show how smart a coach he is but his team ended up looking daft.

Would I be right in thinking that some of the believers still maintain the first goal was offside?

They did shoot themselves in the foot, no doubt about it, by making a dugs dinner of that offside trap and then gifting Sevco possession inside their own box, not to mention their keeper practically gifting the third goal.

I think what Potter is trying to say is that if they hadn't been so amateurish in several aspects of the game things might have been different

Sounds to me like Doctor football is saying they might have done better if they had a coach that knew how to avoid all the sort of things you mention. I'd sack whoever was responsible and get the director of football to find a decent coach.

"I did not need any persuasion to play for such a great club, the Hibs result is still one of the first I look for"

    Sir Matt Busby

That was sooo Dundee Utd-esq like they did under McLean. How embarrassing was that? 😲😅😅😅

Just watched it for the first time. OOOOOPS!!!!

"Superstar" Demetri Mitchell didn't exactly cover himself in glory for the second either.

Judging by the highlights, neither of those teams look too sharp in defence. Will be interesting to see how they get on with the simple job of closing down Stevie Mallan so he can't shoot.

I watched the goals they lost for the first time this lunchtime.

The first is hilarious - a stick-on for Question of Sport's "what happens next".

I thought Levein would be doing his skittering in the bogs but he was in full verbal diarrhoea mode at the press conference.

    Comedy gold.

What a truly bizarre thing to say. The games gone, no matter how bad or how good you think you have played, the result stands ya complete tool.

    Pandering to the masses.

Has the OP considered that Cathro was being worked by Potter via radio and was indeed the puppet not the puppet master? The coincidence is too great.

The man's a dick, pure and simple. Can't really be arsed to. Say anything more. Wouldn't give him any more publicity than that.
