We all love a good highlights package before signing an Eredivisie star

Great highlights package, bizarrely for a left back he love to tackle with his right foot?

Seems to be a bit of a joke figure among Dutch fans. He’s been ironically nicknamed ‘Lord Nelom’ by fans over there and there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of praise from Feyenoord supporters.

The point being is Lewis started out as a left sided midfielder and only really started at LB around the Fenlon/Butcher era, his natural position is left defensive midfield.
He actually started out as a left back under Mowbray.

If we sign a better left back than Lewis , he will be dropped imo .
Yup. We should always be striving to sign the best players we can for each position. If this lad is better than Lewis I'll be chuffed.

Better tell Wiki then as he's listed as a MF in season 2005-2006,also MF 2007, 2008 and it was under Yogi tat he is listed as a DF in 2009 season.

Stevenson definitely started out as a left back. Remember him making his debut at Ayr.

I wonder what the Grasshopper Zurich fans forums were saying about Florian Kamberi when he signed for us last season.

He's turned out not too badly.

I remember Stevenson came on in a pre season friendly in Ireland under Mowbray as a left back. Might have been the game Malklowski made his debut?

Finally some competition in that area, while Stevenson has be mostly fine for us he's had a relatively easy ride over the years with little or no competition for him to worry about.

So did Efe Ambrose and he still is a joke figure in this country.

Just giving the views of those who have actually seen him play and I’ve yet to see anything good, try not to get too upset about it.

Heres some clips from twitter that didn’t make his showreel

Stevenson is naturally missing McGinn working like a Trojan in front of him but also needs to smarten his ideas .It took him until half time on Saturday to get a grip of things.

So two clips of him miss kicking a ball, both equating to a grand total of 8 seconds, well done you for taking the time and effort to dig those out. How did he do the rest of the time on the park in those games ?

I’m not sure fickle is the correct word. The negative view of him from Dutch fans seems to have been pretty constant for years.

Both these clips are on one of the first YouTube clips available if you search his name on YouTube.

Maybe not good enough for Feyenoord, but not sure they would keep hold of a huddy until 27 years of age. Pretty sure he's been well scouted.

It seems there's a section of Feyenord fans that don't like him. I'll go with he opinions of the managers that have played him though and they clearly seemed to think he was good enough. He's played group stage european football in both of the last two seasons for a team better than anyone in our league with the probable exception of Celtic. I'd be surprised if he's anywhere near as bad as you're suggesting

I’ve not suggested at thing, just passing on the opinions of others. I’ve never seen the guy play, I have no opinion.

I'm not getting upset about it in the slightest. I just prefer to trust the ability of Neil Lennon and the rest of the backroom staff to bring in players who will enhance our squad instead of writing players off just because fans of a past club make a few negative comments on social media.

I would also suggest that not being good enough for Feyenoord is hardly a sign that he's not good enough for us either.

If he signs then I'll wait and see how he plays for us before judging him.

Exactly! The EPL, where the average bench sitter, playing no first team football whatsoever, will stand to be a millionaire at least a season.... "Nah, no thanks, I'll join Hertz instead!"

You seen him play then I take it?

Don’t know anything about him, so won’t say he will be great or terrible. But over 100 games for Feyenoord and 2 Dutch caps suggest he may have something about him. Also only 27.

This forum is a special place at times!
Isn't it just. Decent win against a very good team on Saturday and the negativity has been nauseating almost like some don't want us to do well

    Agree 100%.

As I have said, these are not my opinions, they are those of the Feyenoord and Dutch fans.
