Hibs are supposedly close to signing this guy. A Dutch left back, not sure how it works if the transfer window is closed unless he has been without a club since the close of the window?

Miquel Nelom has not been a club since his departure from Feyenoord in early July, but that seems to be changing in the short term. Football International knows Monday afternoon to report that the defender is working at Hibernian . Because the 27-year-old Nelom has a transfer-free status, he can immediately sign a contract in Scotland. The left back was under contract with Feyenoord for the past seven years, but was told earlier this year that there was no more room for him in De Kuip. The second half of the past season, Nelom already played on a rental basis for Sparta Rotterdam and under the leadership of Dick Advocaat he did not prevent the Spaniards from the Eredivisie from relegating.Nelom joined the youth academy of Feyenoord in 2009, but made his debut in professional football in the shirt of Excelsior. After his return to De Kuip in 2011, he came to a total of 157 official matches for Feyenoord and in 2013 also followed 2 international matches for the Dutch national team. Hibernian, the current number five of the Scottish Premier League, will be Nelom's first employer outside the Netherlands.Less talk, more gifs. 21.05.16

Erm this boy is a Dutch international with 2 caps for them.
I wouldn't be so sure he is here to sit on the bench, the length of the deal may tell us a bit more but i think Lewis may have some competition on his hands.

Welcome aboard Miquel.
Lewis hasn't seen off a challenger for at least half a season.

I've just posted that i doubt he'll have come here to sit on the bench but he'll have a job on his hand taking the shirt of Stevenson who i'm sure won't give it up without a fight.

If we don't toughen up in midfield, Stevenson may well take someone else's shirt.

I am aware though that he got MOTM in a cup final in midfield to save anyone mentioning it.

He also seems to have the highly improbable 1st name of "Paddy", and on that basis alone I say "SIGN HIM UP"

Sounds like an experienced pro who will offer some competition for Stevenson. Another player with International caps, just give us the league title already.

On the upside he won't be worn out!
Seems to have been an ever present 2014/15 season then dropped off from there to finally being out of the picture last season

Don’t know anything about him, so won’t say he will be great or terrible. But over 100 games for Feyenoord and 2 Dutch caps suggest he may have something about him. Also only 27.
This forum is a special place at times!
